Then we put those products on sale! Our latest Polly Picks sale includes products chosen by the fabulous Cecile (Arumrose): Cecile (Arumrose) is an super talented and sweet Polly. She has the ability to go between making pocket style pages and regular scrapbook layouts seemlessly. I love her bright and happy photos and that always present on her pages too. I asked Cecile to describe her style, and this is what she had to say:“I started digital scrapbooking with the arrival of my daughter in 2006. When I look back to my very first layouts for sure I can say that my style has evolved even if the purpose remains the same... scrap the every day photos of my kids, … [Read more...]
Going Hybrid on a budget!
Hello!!!!! Cynthia (MrsPeel) here. I hope everyone is well and enjoying the weekend!!!! I am really, really excited right now as I am going to share with you something I made, and guess what? It is not entirely digital!!!!! I know many of you have been hearing me say how much I admire the hybrid artists, how much I love how things look on paper….but how much I fear the lack of the "undo" button.I have been starting and quitting, starting and quitting… sound familiar? I know a few of you shared my habit of throwing half done paper stuff in the garbage. We would say in "the bin" here in England, but if you look at my use of the word "awesome" you will know I'm North Americanized a LOT! LOL So, bear with me, I know, I talk a lot too & I wonder of subject… age is showing!!! OK, back to what matters.I kept starting and quitting and then I realized the reason for my frustration: I will … [Read more...]
Handmade Manipulatives
Fall is here and the big kids are back at school. I've still got a few little kids that don't go to school yet. My little kids who aren’t in school yet want to do some “schoolwork” just like their siblings do. I don’t want to disappoint them, so I do some preschool learning activities with them. Over the years of doing preschool with my kids I have ran into one major problem....finding manipulatives that readily available or don't come in huge quantities. Eventually I stumbled upon the idea of creating my own maniuplatives using my digi supplies! Yet another way to stretch my digi stash! Today I'm going to show you how creating your own manipulatives is as simple as 1 -2 - 3!1. Select a digi element to be made into a manipulative. I chose to use leaves from Fantabulous Fall Elements by Kim Jensen. I am introducing the season fall to my kids. South Texas doesn't have fall … [Read more...]

Planner Love: Using Digital Journal Cards
Hi everyone, Sarah here, and I'm excited to be sharing with you some of the ways that I use digital journal cards in my weekly planner pages. For these pages I'm using the Me and My Big Ideas Happy Planner but these techniques will work with many of the other planners currently available on the market. For this set of pages I decided to use Just Jaimee's September 2014 Storyteller Collection. I just love the great variety of journal cards (as well as other elements) included in these collections and the bold fall colors were just the perfect touch for this week's planner pages.I began by printing out a few of the journal cards from the collection onto bright white card stock and then trimming each card with my paper trimmer. One way I love to use these cards is by punching holes in the side and using them as extra space to jot down notes or lists throughout the … [Read more...]
My Biggest Scrapbooking Challenge
So, we're among friends here right? I think that we are, so I am going to go ahead and share with you what my biggest challenge with scrapbooking is. I don't often admit this, and I try to not make it so evident in my layouts. My biggest problem is that I really can't do multi-photo layouts. There I said it.I'm not talking PL Layouts...those I can do. I am talking about traditional 12x12 size layouts with multiple photos on them. I see so many beautiful layouts that include 3, 4, and 5 photos and I think, "Man I wish I could do that." No matter how hard I try, however, I feel like it never looks right when I create a layout with more than 1 (2 at the most) photos on it. I really like the way they look, so that's why I am always trying to create pages with multiple photos. Try as I may, I always end up going back to my one photo layouts.I've tried different things to help me … [Read more...]

Educational Board Games You Can Play With Your Children
Hi everyone, Sarah here to share another board game post with you all. Today I'm going to talk about board games you can use to teach your kids (and have fun playing the game with them as well). While I think all board games can be used as a teaching tool, especially in the realm of critical thinking, taking turns, teamwork and problem solving, I wanted to focus on games that help teach scholastic concepts.First on my list is Animal Upon Animal. This is basically a stacking game where you are trying to get rid of all of your pieces without knocking down the tower of animals. What I really like about this game is that as you play you can discuss colors as well as the different animals as you place them. Even though this is marketed as a preschool game I've seen many games of this played solely with adults with everyone that was playing thoroughly enjoying the game. I love when you … [Read more...]
Easy (Fancy) Flourless Chocolate Cake
Hellllloooo Pad Scrappers~Polly Liana here, with a fun way to make a fancy cake that's actually really easy and delicious. First, make a flourless chocolate cake using this really fantastic recipe (click on photo for link to recipe):After you've make the cake, let it cool on a cooling rack. Then, I create a round stencil out of card stock, using my personal cutting machine (Silhouette or Cricut). I lay the stencil on the cake. (Instead of trying this technique on someone else's cake, I made my own birthday cake so if I messed it up, I would forgive myself.) :)I then put confectioner's sugar in a sieve and sprinkle it over the cake.Lastly, I use tweezers to pull the pieces of card stock off the cake. The white on brown makes a really dramatic looking cake but it's an easy recipe and pretty simple decorating technique.Enjoy! … [Read more...]
