So, we’re among friends here right? I think that we are, so I am going to go ahead and share with you what my biggest challenge with scrapbooking is. I don’t often admit this, and I try to not make it so evident in my layouts. My biggest problem is that I really can’t do multi-photo layouts. There I said it.
I’m not talking PL Layouts…those I can do. I am talking about traditional 12×12 size layouts with multiple photos on them. I see so many beautiful layouts that include 3, 4, and 5 photos and I think, “Man I wish I could do that.” No matter how hard I try, however, I feel like it never looks right when I create a layout with more than 1 (2 at the most) photos on it. I really like the way they look, so that’s why I am always trying to create pages with multiple photos. Try as I may, I always end up going back to my one photo layouts.
I’ve tried different things to help me create multi-photo layouts. I’ve used templates with multiple photo spots (I used one and filled the other with papers or cards). I’ve tried to use a series of photos to tell the story (that ended up being a PL layout). I recently thought I would be able to pull off a two photo layout, and I ended up using the same photo twice, and I never end up using those elements that encourage multiple photos like filmstrips and such.
So why am I sharing this with you today? It’s because of the simple truth involved: we all have something about this great hobby that we find challenging. It may seem silly to us, and we may think others will find it silly, but the reality is that each of us has something in scrapbooking that we find challenging. Once we can start talking about these things, we can start helping each other to conquer our biggest scrapbooking challenges!
