MOC7 Prep Tips and Challenge Tracker

MOC7 Prep Tips and Challenge Tracker

Month of Challenges. Just the name brings forth joy in my heart. The first year I participated was a slightly different feeling. Let's call it terror or maybe fear. I had no idea what to expect and was a a little frightened at the idea of scrapping a page a day for an entire month. Much less a challenge every day! I made it through and now that fear is gone. It has turned into pure anticipation! 31 days of challenges to complete! One of the best tips that was shared with me early on was find a way to track which challenges you have completed and submitted your page to the thread. There are numerous ways to do this - pen and paper, excel sheets, even just looking at the board! See my face on those threads? That means I've replied inside them. My favorite is to mark that I finished the page and mark that I added it to the thread. Why the two steps? Because there are times I finish … [Read more...]

Hybrid Hand Towel

Hi Pad Peeps!!  It's Katrina here today to share a tutorial on how to use your digital supplies to make custom hand towels for your kitchen, camper, or gifts (think ahead to Christmas!!). It's pretty easy, but I wouldn't recommend this as a kid friendly project, just for the hot iron.  But they could always help you time the steps!Supplies you will need of this project are: Digital editing/printing program aka Photoshop for me! Cotton tea towel.  I picked up a pack of two at a local craft store and used a coupon for a deal! Digital elements of your choice Inkjet printer Iron Inkjet Transfer Sheets (I used Therm O Web brand)You will want to wash and dry your towels before putting the transfer on them.  This will get chemicals out of the towels and also if shrinkage happens, it won't affect your design.Start off by creating a document in Photoshop at … [Read more...]

Using Photo Templates in Hybrid Scrapbooking

It's Polly katrinahunt13 here on the blog today sharing another hybrid project with you!  Yes, I want you to get excited about hybrid and at least try it!One of the things I envy with digital scrapbooking is the way you can get so many pictures on a page and they look good and not cluttered!  As I was looking at the BYOC for October (psst....go now and look at it, it's AMAZING!) I saw some photo collage templates by Paislee Press.  As soon as I saw them, I knew they would be great for a hybrid scrapbooking page!I just fell in love with the Addendum|Collage templates when I saw them and I knew they would get lots of use in my hybrid world.  They are super easy to use for a beginner Photoshop girl like me, which I loved.  If you know how to do clipping, you are set!  Open the template in Photoshop, drag in your picture and clip to the photo area that you want it in. I wanted to use … [Read more...]

Hybrid Layout Using August BYOC and Template

Hey there!!!  It's Katrina, aka @katrinahunt13 in the forum, sharing my first post for the Lilypad blog today.  Quite frankly I am a little nervous as I am the new kid on the blog and also a hybrid girl to boot!  Here's a little about me.I started scrapping in 2009 and actually started digitally, even though I had no idea what I was doing.  Then, I was introduced to paper and I was a goner.  I have always been fascinated by digital/hybrid and finally decided to jump in after seeing a post by Scrapping with Liz that was looking for paper scrappers to work with her templates.  One thing lead to another (aka wide format printer) and I was hooked! I feel like I have found an online "home" here at the Pad and love to visit several times a day.I thought I would show just a little on how you can use your digital templates for hybrid layouts.  Let's take a look at my layout. I choose to do a … [Read more...]

Create a Card: Custom Background

I really enjoy giving cards to family and friends. Cards are perfect way to send birthday wishes, celebrate a special event, or even to just say hello to someone. I always try to have a selection of homemade cards on hand to give out for any of these occasions. I’ve noticed my supply of cards has been getting a bit low and committed myself to making a few cards to bolster it up.  Birthday invitations is the type of card I'm sharing today.  I am also sharing a tip on how to create your own custom background.Birthday invitations has been on my mind lately.  I have three birthday parties to plan all within the next month.  Instead of buying cards at the store, I decided to make my own design.  I kept the invitation simple, but customized the background to represent the theme of my daughters birthday party.  It will also be easy to take my design and change out the colors to work for … [Read more...]
