Hi there and Happy Halloween, I'm popping in with a Mega Mash-up for the end of October so given the timing, I'm calling it a Monster Mash. In the past colour schemes, designer styles and themes have been the focus of my product mashing but today all I'm looking for are packs that have spiders or spider webs as my commonality. The process would be the same if you were to pick circles, hexagons, stars, hearts... you get the idea right? When I search for 'spiderwebs' in the store, much like bats, spiders and spiderwebs feature in Halloween kits like are on sale at the moment but are also in insect and backyard related kits, as well as some superhero kits like my photo theme is today. (And I'm so grateful that it's so much faster than if I went to my physical cupboard of paper scrapping things and had to pull out every paper or element that was spiderweb related because I don't sort and … [Read more...]

Quick Halloween Treat Bags
There is always that unexpected thing that comes up with holidays. A party, a gift exchange, etc. Halloween isn't an exception! This is a quick idea for some make ahead treat bags to keep on hand for those little (or big) goblins. These are also cute for your co-workers!These are super quick to make and you can even have the kiddos help fill bags. I "may" have snacked a little while filling these!Start by creating your printable in PS, or your program of choice. I can do quite a few, because I have a wide format printer, but these will work on a regular sized printer no problem! I used a sheet of pattern paper, created some white boxes on top and then filled the boxes with elements from Allison Pennington's Little Monsters for these. Such a cute kit! After you get your printable printed out (ha ha!) then trim down each tag. I actually made these too big, I would have … [Read more...]
Hairy Scary Spiders Recipe
When my husband and I first were married, he begged me to make some Hairy Scary Spiders for Halloween. The recipe sounded weird to me so I politely declined. Year after year my husband requested them and I turned the request down. After ten years of requesting I finally gave in declaring that I was not going to touch the gross things! Upon finishing my husband and kids quickly gobbled the spiders up. With just a few left, my kids begged me to give the spiders a try. I tentatively ate one and was hooked! These spiders were delicious! The spiders have become a Halloween treat tradition in our family. I wanted to share this quick and simple recipe with you! Don't be a scaredy cat like me, give them a try!Ingredients:12 oz bag of chocolate chips6 oz bag of butterscotch or peanut butter flavored chipsBag of chow mein noodles or 2 large cansRed Hots, or Mini M … [Read more...]
