SOSN for Challenges
Wednesday is one of my favorite days at The Lilypad. Why? Because I love a good deal and the Something Old Something New Sale offers lots of those. And I like it even more if I can find that one kit I need to complete one of the monthly challenges. I get so inspired going through the Old and New designs. So yes, it happens a lot that I start in search of one product and end up with something completely different. Today I want to show you what I found to create my layouts for the April Random Challenge and Style Challenge. Here's the link for today's SOSN sale. This is Just Jaimee's Wish - The Kit, a Storyteller April 2018 add-on. Those vibrant blues and yellow will work really well with the tree climbing picture I have in mind for the Style Challenge. I know vibrant colours can be a bit intimidating for some, but don't let that stop you. You don't have to use all of them at once. a … [Read more...]

Template Tuesday: full size to card size
There are a lot of templates in my stash. And I am always looking for different ways to use them. One of those ways is adapting them for pocket pages. Today I'm going to show you a couple of ways to do that.Adapting your templates is a great way to stretch your stash. And the ideas I am going to show you can easily be combined with pocket page templates to create a world of possibilities. So let us have a look at three techniques I often use.The first way to adapt a template is making it smaller. This works well with templates that have big items on them and not too many layers. I chose one of Gina Millers Foxy Templates for this technique. Because the composition is centered on the page it still works really well when you reduce the size. To go from a full 12x12 inch layout to a 6x4 inch card you need to reduce the size to 50%. As you can see I leave a few layers out when … [Read more...]
Throwback Thursday | Old to New
Hi friends. I'm here with a fun throwback Thursday post this week. MOC is going on in the forum right now and each day brings a new challenge. MOC Day 4 asked us to re-scrap an old layout of ours and if you haven't completed that one yet, then this post may be helpful right now.Of course, there are many reasons to re-do or revisit an older layout. Maybe your overall scrap style has changed and this would allow you to create the older layouts in your new style. Maybe there's some new products that fit the theme, mood, or photo more than when you first scrapped it (hello fellow digi-stash hoarders like myself lol). And then, maybe you just weren't quite happy with the old layout and re-doing it is the only thing that will ease your feeling you get when you look at it. (again, I'm raising my hand, lol)I went through my gallery here and found a super old layout that at the time I … [Read more...]
