Hey everyone I'm super excited to be presenting my very first Polly blog post here at TLP. Every month I enjoy playing along with the challenges and one of my favorites is seeing what designer will be giving us a cool new template for the template challenge. This month Lynn Grieveson is giving us a super easy clean & simple template design that lends itself well as a clean slate ready for your creative ideas! Find the November challenge template in the shop right now and it's totally FREE for the month. If you know me, then you know I love me some clusters but sometimes I just need a clean slate to be creative with. To let all my ideas just ebb & flow on the page. The template Lynn designed this month allowed me to do just that. This is Lynn's template:I started with the clean slate of her simple design with all that whitespace:and my first steps were pretty … [Read more...]

Hybrid Template Fun
Hey everyone! Hope the end of summer, first of school is treating you well. This will likely leave you with some "extra" time or just regular time to create. I have a fun thing to try for hybrid that you may not have thought about. It's Katrina aka katrinahunt13 here on the blog today sharing a hybrid layout I did with a fun template from Sabrina's Creations. If you haven't taken a look at her store DO IT! I love her style even though it is so different than mine. AKA, I pile stuff on and Sabrina has a clean and simple style. BUT, I fell in love with her In Review|September '17 Template and just kept going back to it. That hexagon kept calling my name. And then Allison Pennington's Doggo kit was calling my name! If you haven't seen it, here is the kit picture. I knew mixing the two would be a fun combo. So, I started playing with it in digital and decided to … [Read more...]
Hybrid Inking Without The Mess
Hey there TLP fans! It's Katrina and I have a FUN technique for hybrid scrapbooking! The other night, Cheryl from Fiddle-Dee-Dee Designs hosted a live chat/scrap for the Pad. I had a little time to jump in and watch and I am so glad I did. She was using her new template, Blooming (Dressed Up) for her layout. I already have the template, so I was curious to see what she was going to do with it. I love her style to begin with, so I knew it would be something fabulous. After watching here is my layout that came inspired totally from her video chat! Video is at the bottom of this post, if you are interested in watching it!!!See those die cut flowers? Well, in her chat, she misted those for her digital layout with a misting brush. Which got me to thinking and talking in the chat with Courtney about a project. hmmm...wonder if I could do that with hybrid? Everyone was … [Read more...]
Happy Pi(e) Day-Use that Pie Chart!
Happy Pi Day, or as I like to call it Pie Day! It's Katrina, aka katrinahunt13, back after a short absence to share a hybrid layout with you today. When I saw that 3.14 or Pi Day was open for a blog post, I jumped on it. I knew exactly what I wanted to do and it DIDN'T have to do with math!Pie charts are fun elements to incorporate into your scrapbooking pages, whether digital or hybrid. For my layout today I used a template from FiddleDeeDee Designs called Piece of the Pie (Dressed Up). This is a great place to start with pie charts if you aren't used to working with them. There are so many things you can do, but I honestly kept my pie chart pretty darn simple!I print my papers thru Photoshop on my wide format Epson printer. This also allows me to resize the original files down to 6x6 square and then print four prints on one page in a smaller scale. Even if you don't have … [Read more...]
Using Photo Templates in Hybrid Scrapbooking
It's Polly katrinahunt13 here on the blog today sharing another hybrid project with you! Yes, I want you to get excited about hybrid and at least try it!One of the things I envy with digital scrapbooking is the way you can get so many pictures on a page and they look good and not cluttered! As I was looking at the BYOC for October (psst....go now and look at it, it's AMAZING!) I saw some photo collage templates by Paislee Press. As soon as I saw them, I knew they would be great for a hybrid scrapbooking page!I just fell in love with the Addendum|Collage templates when I saw them and I knew they would get lots of use in my hybrid world. They are super easy to use for a beginner Photoshop girl like me, which I loved. If you know how to do clipping, you are set! Open the template in Photoshop, drag in your picture and clip to the photo area that you want it in. I wanted to use … [Read more...]
