Hello again, Polly Stefanie here with a few layouts I created from our cruise vacation earlier this year. Because these will form part of a photobook of our cruise I didn't think each layout needed a title. I tried to keep the design similar and made sure to add the date to each of them.Just a little reminder that sometimes the photos, journaling and a few elements to add a little sparkle or pop of dimension and texture is all you need. … [Read more...]
Thoughtful Thursday
Hello there, Polly Stefanie. Some times when I don't have mojo, or know what I feel like scrapbooking, I peruse the Lilypad galleries, take a gander at the challenges and then even check out the designer challenges. This week I played along, creating a few layouts with Fiddle Dee Dee Design's freebie templates Fiddlesticks 114, 115 & 116. You can find the templates HERE. For the first two I used word strips as the title, and for the third layout I used alphas and created a low contrast title. It really depends on how important you feel a title is. Back in the day I always had a title, photos, journaling and now I am less constricted by expectations. I create layouts for my memory keeping, to pair my photos and stories and I get to be creative with that and play with great designers' goodies. Which allows me to be present in the moment, to remember the good times we … [Read more...]
Thoughtful Thursday: Text as a design element
Hello Polly Stefanie here with some stunning layouts I grabbed from the Pollywog gallery that showcase using text as a design element. I love the way Ferdy used a small hand writing font in white to balance the black stamped stars on the left. It's slightly more subtle as white on tan.Karen filled a hexagon with her journaling and it acts as a placeholder for an additional hexagon shape and balances the design.Another one by Ferdy, her text fills the monogram "B" and it's fun and eye catching integral part of the design.Kayla has used a mask to layer the text paper, days of the week behind her photo and this acts to ground the photo and adds some colour to unify the design. … [Read more...]
Thoughtful Thursday : This or That
hello there, Polly Stefanie here with a quick quiz inspired layout. It's fun to just rattle off some easy this or that questions when you're getting to know someone new.I googled "fun this or that questions" and just changed the font colour to red for the answers I chose. It's a fun, lighthearted all about me style layout. I used Wild Flowers kit from Anita Designs and Rachel Etrog Designs. How many questions would we agree on the answers of?Why don't you take a "this or that" quiz and play along. … [Read more...]

Thoughtful Thursday: Repetition
Hello there, Polly StefanieS here. I love capturing ordinary everyday moments and while participating in a documenting your week challenge recently I ended up taking so many photos of my hubby and the cats. Yes Father's Day is traditionally about your human children, but for a playful, fun layout I gathered a group of photos taken in different times of day, different times of the year, but the action, (face smooshes and cuddles) is always the same. He lifts them up, loves them and asks me if they look happy. The answer is always a resounding no. I mean they probably do enjoy the attention, but they haven't let their expression know.I used Just Jaimee's :Story Teller 2019 June date stamps, Dad life mini Theme add-on Story Teller June 2019, Story Teller BYOC June 2022 word art and stamps, Story Teller BYOCV June 2022 Pocket Journal Cards.I would love to see you play along with … [Read more...]
