Hello there, Polly Stefanie here to encourage you to document how your senses can ground you and spark joy.The 5 primary senses of: See (Eyes/Sight) Smell (Nose/Odor) Hear (Ears/Sound) Taste (Mouth/Flavour) Touch (Skin/Feel).We all have favourite smells, that spark happy memories. For me the smell of melting butter always reminds me of childhood growing up in Germany. Cigarette smoke reminds me of my Mom. Favourite fragrances, for me its frangipani. As a child I had some tactile defensive issues, there would be feels I liked and other feels I avoided. So I would wear cotton and linen, but avoid nylon and chiffon type feels. We all need to get a hug or cuddle a pet. What kinds of touch do you savour? My daughter enjoys a good hard hug, but a more gentle one with a side to side action is less pleasant for her. Have you ever thought of documenting and capturing … [Read more...]
Make It Monday Cutout Card
Happy March y’all! Polly Robin here with another Make It Monday Blog post. Today I’m going to show you how I take a PNG and make a cutout card. You could use part of this tutorial to digitally scrap a cutout, or you can go further and make a card. Let me show you what I mean.First, I wanted to use a flower from Scrapping with Liz’s Flower and Leaf Cut Outs.I created a new project in Photoshop, placed my flower on my page, and added a stroke of 30px on the outside of the flower.Next, I separated the stroke from the flower by using the Create Layer function.I filled in the white spots by creating a box, filling it with the same white color as the outline, and then merged that white with the white outline. I created my card by creating a 4.25 x 5.50-inch box on a new layer and filled it with the white background. Next, I clicked on the thumbnail of the … [Read more...]

I scoured the Pollywog gallery and found that three of us have created layouts with the selfsame template but ended up with very different takes on it.Layout by JennLayout by Me,layout by MarijkeEven though we all kept the same size and orientation of the original, you could re-size it, flip it, duplicate parts of it, remove parts of it. You could really change things up. … [Read more...]

Art Journaling Challenge Week 4 : Hues
Hello there, Polly Stefanie here highlighting Angela's art Journaling challenge for this final week of February. You can find it in the Lilypad forum, HERE.Each week we are exploring different colour schemes, and this week our scheme is Monochromatic. What is a Monochromatic (or Monotone for short) colour scheme?Basically Monotone is defined as only using only one colour (or hue as we call it in colour theory). The monochromatic scale is created by adding black to get a darker colour (the tone) or adding white to get a lighter colour (the tint)In digital scrapbooking the best way to visualise this is to look at the colour dialogue. The colour in my colour picker is my main colour. Have the colour view option set to HSL mode. Then look at the L slider - by moving that left or right we get the tones and tints for our monochromatic colour pallet.Using MonotoneHere are 3 … [Read more...]
