There are a lot of templates in my stash. And I am always looking for different ways to use them. One of those ways is adapting them for pocket pages. Today I'm going to show you a couple of ways to do that.Adapting your templates is a great way to stretch your stash. And the ideas I am going to show you can easily be combined with pocket page templates to create a world of possibilities. So let us have a look at three techniques I often use.The first way to adapt a template is making it smaller. This works well with templates that have big items on them and not too many layers. I chose one of Gina Millers Foxy Templates for this technique. Because the composition is centered on the page it still works really well when you reduce the size. To go from a full 12x12 inch layout to a 6x4 inch card you need to reduce the size to 50%. As you can see I leave a few layers out when … [Read more...]

Thoughtful Thursday: Why I Document Life
I have been an avid scrapbooker and photographer for decades. I have spent hours each week photographing my world around me, my children, our life together and scrapbooking the stories of our days. I have loved every minute of it and it has brought me so much joy and happiness. My family has loved it too - my children would often pull out their scrapbooks and browse through them as they happily relieved these memories. Memory keeping and documenting our lives has always been such a major part of my free time.Until it wasn’t.Somewhere along the way over the past couple of years, that creative spark and desire to record our lives just disappeared. Many things contributed to that loss of joy and capturing our life was no longer a priority, nor was it something that I wanted to document. My enthusiasm and fondness for scrapbooking and memory keeping dwindled and then simply … [Read more...]

Catching Up on PL 2015 in One Hour a Day
Like everyone else, I get behind on my Project Life. Sometimes there's too much going on, or I don't have time to sit and put the pages together, or I'm finishing a good book and want to focus on that - whatever the case may be, I end up with weeks and weeks of Project Life to put together. Once I'm pretty far behind like that, it starts to bother me and I want to pick up the slack fast. Over the last two years, I've come up with a plan that helps me catch up on my Project Life by just dedicating an hour a day for five days. Here's the breakdown of what I do.Day 1: Get the photos readyOn day 1, I sit and go through the photos I have for each week. You may remember, I have it set up so that Lightroom sorts them by week for me. So when I sit down I pick the photos for each week. It's at this point that I also do any editing I need to do. I try to keep my photo editing for PL pretty … [Read more...]
Pocket Scrapping Out of Order: Tip #2 & 3
Hey scrappers, Polly Jewelle here! Today I have a two more tips in our pocket scrapping out of order series to share with you. Although I primarily do hybrid pocket scrapping I believe these tips can work with digital pocket scrapping as well. Lets get started!Tip #2 Keep all your record keeping in one placeIn this day and age we have the ability to keep records about us, our children, pets, activities, etc. However with the growth of technology we seem to be keeping these records in a bunch of different places. For example how many different social media accounts do you have? Do you post pictures, quotes, funny sayings your children say on them, etc? I know I do! I used to think since I was recording all these moments it would be so easy when I was scrapping to just go pull all that stuff together to put into a pocket page. Boy was I wrong! It took a lot of time to go … [Read more...]
