As we finish off the year, our family has a tradition of having lots of finger foods and appetizers for New Year's Eve at home. We watch movies or play games and bring in the year with full bellies. One of our favorites and a super easy go-to that we always beg my husband to make is: Sausage Balls. They are so yummy and you cannot just eat one lol. And the best part....is that they only need 3 simple ingredients! Ingredients: 1 - pound package of your favorite breakfast sausage 1 - pound bag of sharp cheddar cheese 2 - cups of biscuit baking powder mix (1/4 cup of milk if they seem too dry after mixing everything together)**After mixing all ingredients together completely you'll have a dough. Roll into balls about the size of a golf-ball and place onto baking sheet. Bake at 350°F for about 18-20 minutes, until they are golden brown and sausage is cooked through. … [Read more...]

Summer Treats
Summer is slowly starting to come to an end here in the States. I must admit that I am not sad to see the beginning of the end of hot, humid, sticky days - but I will miss some of my favorite summer foods. At the top of that list is my favorite summer cheesecake recipe. It is a lighter, fluffier version of the traditionally heavier New York style cheesecake and, when paired with my favorite summer fruit (strawberries) - it is a truly delicious treat. If you care to try it - here is my recipe: I love the mixture of lemon and strawberry flavors, but you can use the jello flavor and fresh fruit combo of choice. :) Until next time ~Judie Save … [Read more...]
Hairy Scary Spiders Recipe
When my husband and I first were married, he begged me to make some Hairy Scary Spiders for Halloween. The recipe sounded weird to me so I politely declined. Year after year my husband requested them and I turned the request down. After ten years of requesting I finally gave in declaring that I was not going to touch the gross things! Upon finishing my husband and kids quickly gobbled the spiders up. With just a few left, my kids begged me to give the spiders a try. I tentatively ate one and was hooked! These spiders were delicious! The spiders have become a Halloween treat tradition in our family. I wanted to share this quick and simple recipe with you! Don't be a scaredy cat like me, give them a try!Ingredients:12 oz bag of chocolate chips6 oz bag of butterscotch or peanut butter flavored chipsBag of chow mein noodles or 2 large cansRed Hots, or Mini M … [Read more...]

Creating a Recipe Binder: Part 1
I’ve been on a quest to find the best recipes since I first learned to cook. When I was younger I was sure all those recipes were my mom’s or grandmas. I remember heading off to college with a small recipe binder holding those cherished recipes. In fact I still have that little recipe binder…At collage I was exposed to others cooking and found new recipes I loved. In they went to my little binder. Then food blogs and pinterest become popular and I found so many more yummy recipes! My little binder exploded and became this mess of recipes. The organization is lacking. It takes a long time to find the recipe I want. If I find the correct recipe, I have to battle the food stains that cover them. Anyone else have the same problem? I decided to end this problem and revamp my recipe organization. I created a plan for this HUGE project and decide to share this with you in a two part blog … [Read more...]
