Warping and Shadowing Leaves
Hi everyone. It's Polly Rae here, aka bcgal00, and today I'm going to share with you some of the ways I like to warp and shadow leaves using Photoshop. Many of my pages include clusters and often that includes leaves. In my opinion, they are the perfect accent to a page, whether they are used singly or in a cluster. Here's a page I am creating with a kit by Amy Wolff Designs Cinnamon Toasted and Bella Gypsy Awesome Autumn. Five leaf/branch layers create the cluster and have been placed onto the right side of my photo mask. The colors and bulk of the cluster draw your eye to that area and down to the word art and bit of journaling (which I will place underneath later). To easily identify the cluster layers, I color coded them in the layers palette (highlight the layers, right click while hovering over the layers and choose a color from the drop-down menu box). I could finish my page … [Read more...]
Create a Card: Packaging Technique for Backgrounds
I enjoy giving cards to family and friends. Cards are perfect way to send birthday wishes, celebrate a special event, or even to just say hello to someone. I always try to have a selection of homemade cards on hand to give out for any of these occasions. I’ve noticed my supply of cards has been getting a bit low and committed myself to making a few cards to bolster it up. New adventures/traveling is the theme of today’s card. I also am sharing a video on how to create a card background using the packaging technique.I know quite a few people who are starting new adventures this fall. While adventures can be exciting they can also be nerve wracking too. What better way to help calm the nerves of someone than to give them a homemade card with well wishes in it? A card about exploring the world was begging to be made.To make this card I used the following supplies: Roam … [Read more...]

Double Page Layout Tips
Hello!!! Cynthia aka MrsPeel here! I hope everyone is well and having a great day! So, lets talk about double pagers! We have an amazing challenge this month for double page layouts, also called two page spreads. The challenge is hosted by someone who is more than a talent at it: HeatherB. Heather has been one of my main inspirations for scrapping since 2010. I also got the double page bug! When I posted one of my last spreads in the gallery, some people suggested I should write a post about how to get good results. Technically, I don't think we can call this a tutorial, but I can give you tips that will work in almost any style! I hope you find this useful! For the May Style Challenge, Heather made this wonderful double page layout. What is a double page spread?I would start by explaining my concept of a double page spread. DIY Mini Smashbook
Hi everyone, Sarah here. Today I have a hybrid project that is quick and easy to create and packs a lot of fun into a small package.I used the Memory Pockets Monthly Bloom Collection for the project. To begin I chose a few of the journal cards from the main kit and printed them in sets of two (to create a 4"x6" set of pages) on premium copy paper. Most of the cards that I chose were 3"x4" but I did adjust some of the other sized cards to fit into that format. I made sure to keep each set of cards centered in either the top half or bottom half of the page. This way I could get two sets of pages on each sheet of paper. I also printed one of the journal cards onto the upper right side of a sheet of cardstock for my cover. On the other side of each inside set of pages I printed patterned papers. I filled the entire half of each sheet with a different patterned paper from the … [Read more...]
