Mobile Highlights: January 2016
It's time for Mobile Highlights again! With the Month of Challenges in full swing there were TONS of great layouts shared using the TLP hashtag #the-lilypad. It was super hard, but I narrowed it down to five that really stood out to me. Let's check them out!First off is this colorful layout by jjriward. I love how the banners are pointing up, that's something that you don't often see. I also like the repetition of the triangle shape on the page. How fierce is this lion? It is the perfect bold statement to go with the layout by afairlyfabulouslife. I love the artistic look of this page with all of the sketches and paint. The composition is great too...everything moves across the page.This. This is how you do white space. The white background on this layout by cheyang09 plays so nicely with the photo, and really creates the snowy winter feel. The pops of color from … [Read more...]
Monthly Mini Album
Hi everyone, Sarah here and I have a new project I would like to share with you all today. I've started a 12"x12" Project Life album from 2012 - 2015 and have had varying degrees of success throughout those years, but in the end I have still yet to complete one of these albums. When planning for 2016 I knew I wanted to try something different. My first thought was to stay 12"x12" but use the traditional approach of 2 pages per week (I've always documented monthly using as many pages as it took). Then I considered keeping pocket pages in my Happy Planner so that I have everything all together. The next thing I knew we were already a week into January and I still hadn't begun my album in either of these fashions. I began to look for something that would be more manageable yet still fun. After doing a bit more research I finally happened upon an album that I think will be the perfect … [Read more...]
TLP Member Spotlight – jk703
Hey all, Polly Jewelle here! I am back to bring you another TLP member spotlight! This month I asked the other Polly’s here at the Pad to help pick a member to spotlight. We chose Jenn, aka jk703, to spotlight. Jenn's beautiful gallery and forum participation caught our eye and we knew we needed to spotlight her. Let’s sit back and take some time to get to know more about Jenn!Jewelle: What is your IRL name and your user name?Jenn: Jenn, jk703 (sometimes The Typative Scrapper)Jewelle: Where do you call home?Jenn: New Jersey - between the NJ shore and NYC.Jewelle: Are you a digital or hybrid scrapbooker? Or both?Jenn: Digital. I started with paper in 1999 and for years I was a card maker, stamper and scrapbooker. Then I had kids. Kids, glue and glitter wasn't the best situation. Then I found digital scrapping. That was it, and I was hooked. I tried a couple hybrid project, … [Read more...]

Creating Year in Review Layouts
I can hardly believe that it's already 2016! I feel like 2015 just started! When I look back though, I see all of the great things we did, and the fun memories we have, and I can't help but smile. Doing layouts about each of these moments is great, but I really like the idea of doing a "Year in Review" layout. I would love to have all of the best photos and best memories from 2015 on one page. I started to look into the store, and I found a bunch of great templates for creating a Year in Review layout. These ones by new designer scrapping with Liz are perfect for creating that photo grid and then doing a little journaling about the photos. That template in the bottom left has 12 spaces in it! Perfect for a photo a month! These templates by One Little Bird are a bit older, but I have always loved them. These are great if you really want to include a lot of journaling. Bonus: … [Read more...]
