Happy Wednesday everyone! Not only are we on the downward slope toward the weekend, but we also have a fabulous SOSN sale with a group of old and new products at 50% off for today. Here is a layout with a few of the goodies in today's sale (click on layout for full credits): Notice the effect on the photo? It was super quick and simple, but really changed the look of the photo to make it fit with the theme of the page. All I did was clip a grungy digital paper to the photo spot and blended a sketched version of the photo into it by changing the blending mode to Color Burn. Here is what the photo looked like before and after the blending effect: What a difference one little blending mode makes! You should definitely try out different blending modes with your photo, because the look will change depending on the color and … [Read more...]

Hosting a Christmas Cookie exchange
Did you know that December 22 is National Cookie Exchange Day? (neither did I ha)For me, I am so fortunate to have a “quaran-team,” (that is family or friends that are also isolating and you can interact safely with). If you have one of these and want to do a cookie baking party like I did, you’re in luck. You could make cookie packages up ahead of time and deliver a contact free doorstep delivery. Some people can create and actually feel freer in their creative process in the midst of chaos. Clutter can actually shut down and hinder others from completing simple tasks. The overwhelming feelings of disorder, stop the JOY of creating for many. I am one of those people. I love order, and minimalization. Less STUFF! The "reset" of CoVid shut downs, caused me to re-evaluate my house. I had spent the first 6 months, gaining weight, both on my body and in my house. The feeling of hoarding; toilet paper, coffee, meat, paper and about everything invaded our home.I found an amazing YouTube channel; the Minimal Mom. My daughter (mom to 2 under 3), was getting into how to clean with toddlers everywhere and got me hooked. I was overwhelmed, and forcing myself to sit and create (my favorite thing to do for me). My kitchen and pantry were overflowing. My back patio was a dumping … [Read more...]
