Tracking Credits using File Info
Hi guys!! It's Monica here to talk to you about a really easy, super simple way to track credits for your layouts. I used to track credits using Evernote (you can read about that here), but this program began working wonky for me after its last update. I ended up super frustrated every time I tried following this method and began looking for a new way to do things. This new method is one that you may already be familiar with, but I've found that sometimes the super simple get overlooked and some of you may not know of this.Basically, I write the products I used in my layout inside the file information and include links to each product there as well. In doing this, the credits listed live in the file's metadata and can be transferred when the layout is saved for print and for web sharing as well. After completing each layout, I look over in the layers palate to make sure I … [Read more...]
Post iNSD Inspiration
Hello everyone! If you are like me, you took full advantage of all the fabulous iNSD sales and picked up lots of new digital goodies. But what do you do now that you have 5, 10, 15+ new kits to create with? How do you prevent them from sitting on your hard drive and getting lost/forgotten with all the new digital goodness that comes out each week? I am here to share a couple of tips with you for getting those new kits off your hard drive and onto your pages. Tip #1: Planned Photos If you have specific photos that you want to use with a new kit, put those photos and the kit in a special folder on your computer (or your digital scrapping organizer program) so that everything is accessible in one place. I use ACDSee to organize my digital products and I have a category called "Special Projects" where I include kits, specific elements, templates and … [Read more...]
Ideas For Mother’s Day Layouts
Mother's Day is coming up soon. Let me share some ideas for layouts about Mother's Day.You might create a page about your mother but also, you could think about creating a page about someone you admire, someone you know who is a mother, perhaps a friend, co-worker, relative or neighbor. Have you seen them with their children? Is there a specific occasion or time that stands out in your memory? Journal about a memory or more broadly, journal about the kind of person they are, what their best attributes are and how they influence you. I've got a friend whom I have admired for years, her calmness, her quiet wisdom, her unwaivering devotion to her children; she just simply amazes me. She is an inspiration to me. Do you have someone like that in your life?Mother's Day often brings up past family memories of our childhood. How did you celebrate Mother's Day when you were young? Often … [Read more...]
It’s National Pet Week!!!
Hey there! Did you know it's National Pet Week?! It's Katrina aka katrinahunt13 here on the blog today to share a little about my "other" pet that you haven't seen yet. We all know a bout the dogs, so he needs to shine in the spotlight a little. And I am going to give you a few tips on photographing him!Confession time, I was going to do a hybrid layout about him, but while trying to do it, I had all sorts of computer/printer/Silhouette issues, so I am just going to share a few pictures of him.Meet Bob the Betta Fish. There are 14 different kinds of betta fish and I believe he is a Delta or a Half Moon. I had no idea how many kinds there were when I bought him. They have to live a solitary life, as they will fight with other fish. That does not mean they are not social. He loves it when you come up to the tank and talk to him or run your finger along the side. I have a … [Read more...]
