The current trendwatch - Gratitude is so fitting for this time of year. We recently had the opportunity to reflect on the blessings in our lives during the Thanksgiving holiday this past Thursday. I am so thankful for so many things and really want to share that gratitude with others. I read this passage recently and it really resonates with me.Gratitude shifts your focus from what your life lacks to the abundance that is already present. That is so true! The busy and sometimes stressful holiday season is in full swing. With so much going on it is easy to lose focus on the "reason for the season". It is important to take time to reflect on the things that we already have. Let's celebrate a season of gratitude together! … [Read more...]

Pocket Scrapping Out of Order: Tip #1
Last month we discussed the idea of pocket scrapping out of order and the freedom it can bring to the scrapping. The next question many people ask is, "How do you go about scrapping out of order?" Today I have a tip for you to get started pocket scrapping out of order. Although I primarily do hybrid pocket scrapping I believe this tip can work with digital pocket scrapping as well. Lets get started!Tip#1 : Edit and print your photos.I know this is a super simple tip, but let me explain how this can streamline your pocket scrapping process. I really like to edit my photos. I don't do a lot of editing to them but I still enjoy watching my pictures become the best they can be. However, when I have to edit my pictures then scrap those pictures, I've run out of time. Not only am I out of time but I find myself out of inspiration as well. I took this into consideration and … [Read more...]

Hybrid Christmas Mini Album
Hi, everyone! Sarah here, and I have a confession to make. I'm a December Daily dropout. I've tried multiple years and something always happens, either I forget to take pictures, or if I do take pictures I give up midway through documenting. Every year I keep trying though (and probably will continue trying for years to come).I tend to have an all or nothing type of personality, if I can't do something to the fullest and best then why try at all. As I was browsing through my photos from December 2013, I noticed that there were huge gaps in my photos. I took a lot the first week and a bunch on Christmas day, but very few in between. I also noticed that even with these gaps, all of the photos I didn't take, that there was still a story there to tell. Maybe it isn't a complete story, but it's still our story, and what I do have of it is still important.I decided that I would … [Read more...]
Polly Picks – ForeverJoy
You cannot help but feel a little joy when you cross paths with Renne of ForeverJoy Designs. She is such an amazing designer and quite an inspiration. I just adore her whimsical personality and I am sure that I am not alone in celebrating the excitement of her new home at The Lilypad. If you are new to ForeverJoy Designs now is the perfect time to try out her style, while it's on sale!We asked Renne to tell us a little bit about her scrapping style and this is what she had to say:"I would say that my style is to tell a story first- and usually I do that by focusing on one moment in time. A freeze frame of sorts. It's like I push pause on one memory and zoom in. I don't always do a lot of word journaling- but will use often a word art title or a series or pieces of word art to tell my story- and I always add a little bit of symbolism or word play that may not be apparent to anyone … [Read more...]
How To: Vinyl Wall Art
I love changing the decor in my home to reflect the seasons and the holidays. I really like finding ways to use my stash to create fun, new, removable wall decals at home using decor vinyl and my silhouette portrait. After a little learning and some trial and error, I've come up with this tutorial to help you do the same, so here is 'How To: Vinyl Wall Art!'STEP 1: Choose and prepare your element!Decide which element you'd like to use to create your wall art piece. I decided on this fun Christmas Tree doodle from Little Butterfly Wings 'Xmas Doodles' pack for DYD. I had a spot on my wall in mind right by our console table & shoe storage unit in the hallway and realised I didn't need the lovely writing this time, so I cropped it out.Once I'd cropped the writing out, I was left with exactly what I wanted for my wall art (see above). Then I chose to 'save for web' as a PNG … [Read more...]
