Over the years, the one thing I have struggled with a lot is including meaningful journaling on my pages. It's not that I don't want to share my memories, or that I don't want them preserved or shared. Often I feel a little silly writing journaling. Who am I supposed to be talking to? Do I use the third person? How much do I share? I know that the answers to these questions don't really matter, so I've started using a few tricks to basically MAKE me include more journaling on my layouts. Today, I want to share with you these tricks and some layouts from the awesome gallery here at TLP as examples.Participate in the Journaling Challenge here at TLP - The Journaling Challenge is one of the awesome challenges offered here at TLP and I have found it to be really inspirational in putting more journaling on my pages. Sometimes having a prompt really helps to get my juices flowing and … [Read more...]

Planner Love: Page Process Using Digi Supplies
Hi everyone, Sarah here and I thought it would be fun to share with you all today my process for decorating my planner pages using digital scrapbooking supplies. For this week's planner pages I chose to use the Storyteller Dakota Collection by Just Jaimee. Jaimee's Storyteller collections are such a great value and totally jam packed with wonderful goodies perfect for planner pages.I began by creating a sticker sheet using different elements and papers from the kit. I then cut the stickers out using my Silhouette Portrait. You can hand cut many of these elements as well if you don't have access to an electronic cutter. One thing that I always include on my sticker sheet are strips sized to fit over the morning/afternoon/evening headers in my planner, since I don't divide out my day in that manner. To create these strips I created rectangles in Silhouette Studio to … [Read more...]
5 Great Tips for Purging Your Stash
Twice a year, I go through my entire stash and purge. I actually delete products that I am not going to use again. This idea can be hard to get used to, but over the years there are some useful tips that I've come up with that help me go through my stash efficiently and really free up some space. Today, I want to share those five tips with you. Go through and delete any old freebies you haven't used, or won't used again - We've all been there, downloading every free product we can find, whether we think we'll use them or not. When I am purging, that's the first thing I go for...all of those free kits or minis that I never have and never will use. Pick a time frame, and delete based on that - I usually go with a year. If I haven't used the product within the year, it gets the boot. Sure there are somethings that are immune from that rule: holiday products, Disney … [Read more...]
