Say Hello to Our Newest MPM!
Hi there, Pad Scrappers!Polly Liana here, doin' backflips because I get to introduce you to our newest MPM collection! What is MPM, you ask? It stands for Memory Pockets Monthly. Every month around now, a team of our fabulous designers release a large collection of products they’ve collaboratively created. The products are perfect for pocket scrapping, including 3×4 cards and larger cards as well, plus coordinating elements such as flowers, buttons and tags. In the days following the release of the main kit, the designers release add-ons that coordinate perfectly with the kit but allow each designer to pursue her own individual style. The main word for this month’s MPM kit is PURPOSE and it’s full of inspiration and drive. Let’s have a look at a preview of the main kit:If you click on the image, it will take you to the product page where you will find previews of the … [Read more...]
Template Tuesday : Lynn Grieveson
Hello there, Polly StefanieS here with a step by step layout I created using a template by Lynn Grieveson Designs. (You can find all of her templates in store here.) I love browsing Lynn's store gallery, she is an amazing designer and also an amazing scrapbooker in her own right.I started with a template in the new Hear My Voice 11: Growing collaboration with Rachel Jefferies.I simply adore multi-photo layouts, they tell a richer story to me and I am definitely of the "more is more" mindset.I popped in my photos, wanting to give a snapshot of life right now and what sparks joy to me. Next I added papers to the paper layers and also to the paint and washi tape layers.I added labels to each photo and a little notation of what it was that I was happy about. I made sure to add the date as well. Then I went to town adding dimensional goodies and the finishing … [Read more...]
How to break the rules right!: Using same-sized photos on multi-photo pages
We all know that there aren't exactly hard and fast rules with scrapbook page design, (it is your page, you can create it however you wish because it is ultimately yours and as long as you are happy with it, that is the main thing), but there are some general principles that over the years I've learnt influence how a page reads and comes across to the viewer, so if there's something that feels slightly off about one of your pages, that you can't quite put your finger on, maybe it's got something to do with these principles, and whether you are following them or breaking them. But we also all know breaking rules isn't always a bad thing especially the creative rules! And as someone that has been a frequent visitor to the gallery for well over a decade now, I'm always drawn to pages that I feel break the unspoken rules and try to understand why they work when really, to me, they … [Read more...]
Thoughtful Thursday: Changing Seasons Photography Prompts
I love being out and about. When the weather permits I like to be in the garden. Going to the beach or the woods is also a favorite of mine. And I often take my camera with me because I really like to record the changing of the seasons. Looking through my photos there are some pictures, certain moments that keep coming back. Year, after year.Recording and photographing the seasonal changes is a habit for me. It comes quite naturally as my mother always used to write about the weather in our family calendar. She would write down weather events like when the first thunderstorm of the year was, the temperature on the first warm day of spring or make notes of the amount of rain we had on certain days. Her notes have inspired me to record the seasons changing with my camera. In our part of the world we have just welcomed spring. It is this time of year that I always take pictures of … [Read more...]
Template Tuesday: Scrapping with Liz
Hello again, Polly Stefanie here. I would like to highlight Scrapping with Liz today. You can find her store here and her blog here. She offers a freebie template each month in her designer challenge, you can find that here.I started with the freebie template for March.I plonked in my photos, that's always the first step for me.Next I added the papers. I absolutely love using florals and have no issue using them for my hubby and sons.Next I changed around the position of the papers, and added dimensional embellies, the debossed date tags, journaling, title and the flowers and foliage. And then decided to change up the background paper completely, added some flag type elements to the right of the group photo to make a visual triangle of the yellow from the date tag to the flag and flower. The colour is also perfect to highlight the korma curry. And … [Read more...]
