Selective Recoloring Tips in Photoshop
Hello all my artsy friends! I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday weekend. I'm just dropping in today with a quick recoloring tip to help match your photos to your digital scrapbooking page - and a fun idea for your winter cocoa drinks. :) I used the recoloring tip I am sharing today on this layout: The hot chocolate cup was a bright red before I recolored it and didn't match the beautiful digital kit very well. (BTW, both the kit and the template I used are available in this week's new releases. Click on the layout for full credits.) Here is what the photo looked like before and after re-coloring the cup: Recoloring TechniqueStep 1: Add a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer to the photo. You can do this in Photoshop by clicking on the fill/adjustment layer icon (a half-filled circle) at the … [Read more...]
Large Titles Make an Impact
It's Katrina, aka katrinahunt13 here on the blog today. I love LARGE titles and they can make such a fun impact on a page. This is a hybrid layout, in case you were wondering! It is also a summer layout, but I am going to suggest ideas on how to change it to fit your layout theme!I used Designed by SOCO's "Farewell Summer" kit to create my layout. Now, if you look below at the kit preview, you will see that the "summer" is pretty small. I just enlarged it to fit it on my page. I also accented the middle of summer with one of the pieces of word art that was in the kit. It's a great way to draw attention and add interest! You could do this with any themed layout. I really want to create the other three seasons like this! Wedding layout, you could use "behind" as the big title and then "the scenes" in the middle. OR you could totally reverse that! For a general … [Read more...]
Christmas Wish List Prinbale
Hi pad scrappers!!!Now that there are less than thirty days left until Christmas, I am in full on shopping mode!! I do most, if not all, of my Christmas shopping in the first week of Christmas. Although, I do have to admit that I started a little early this year with some Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. One thing I find myself doing before I begin my shopping is asking my kids (and my husband) for a wish list of exactly what they would like to receive for Christmas. This year I used Becca Bonneville's adorable December Stories kit and alphas to make a wish list that they can fill out for me.My plan is to include their wish list in my Project Life album and maybe even a scrapbook layout this year!Today, I'm excited to share that printable for you!!Just click on the image above, or right here, to download and print this 8.5 x 11 sized Christmas Wish List … [Read more...]
Thankful for November’s M3
Greetings, Pad Scrappers,For those of you who celebrate, a hearty Happy Thanksgiving. Embedded in this holiday are my three favorite things: eat good food, hang out with family and friends, and be thankful for what I have. And oh boy am I ever thankful for the wonderful M3 collection for November! For those of you new to the concept, M3 stands for Mixed Media Monthly. Every month around the 20th, we release a collection of mixed media products that are all designed with the same palette and three key words. The words for November are PURSUE/DEEPER/MEANING. The designers working on the collection this month are Little Butterfly Wings, Lynne-Marie, Paula Kesselring and Rachel Jefferies. Here's the main kit that they have created together:Then, after the main kit is designed, the four collaborating designers can each create a few add-on kits that also coordinate with the … [Read more...]
