It’s Katrina, aka katrinahunt13 here on the blog today. I love LARGE titles and they can make such a fun impact on a page. This is a hybrid layout, in case you were wondering! It is also a summer layout, but I am going to suggest ideas on how to change it to fit your layout theme!
I used Designed by SOCO’s “Farewell Summer” kit to create my layout. Now, if you look below at the kit preview, you will see that the “summer” is pretty small. I just enlarged it to fit it on my page. I also accented the middle of summer with one of the pieces of word art that was in the kit. It’s a great way to draw attention and add interest!
You could do this with any themed layout. I really want to create the other three seasons like this! Wedding layout, you could use “behind” as the big title and then “the scenes” in the middle. OR you could totally reverse that! For a general layout you could use the word “snapshot” large and then “looks”, “antics”, etc for the smaller word. You could also have the title along the side or top, it doesn’t have to be at the bottom. AND you could do it in the middle of the layout and use smaller photos at the top and bottom!
To give the middle word a little “boost” I used foam adhesive to pop it up. If you are going digital, then just play with your shadows! I balanced out the large title by doing smaller clusters of elements that do not try to compete with the title. I will admit I had to play around quite a bit to find a balance, but that’s probably because I like a lot of STUFF on my layouts! I also kept the clusters close and confined by my pictures.
So, try a big title layout! I would love to see what you create. Christmas is coming that that is a perfect scrapping opportunity to try this out! This is also my last post here at the Lilypad. I have stepped back for awhile, just to take some time. I am not totally gone, just taking a break!! Have a great holiday!
