Mobile Highlights: December 2016
Now that the holiday dust is settling, it's time for mobile highlights! This month I picked six layouts that really stood out to me. Incidentally, I recently created an Instagram account just for my scrapping, you can follow me at @sirscrapalot on Instagram.I loved the use of stars on this layout by @destinyscraps. Having them go around in circles really gives movement to the page. I also love the glittered edge of the paper. The colors in this layout by @iowanatheart really are striking. The use of black, white and gray with pops of color makes a bold statement on the page. I also love the idea of these colors and a layout using snowflakes! So original. The painted star paper piecings on this layout by @ellen.h.tucker is what drew me to it. They are such a nice, rich color and make a great backdrop for the photos.Speaking of backdrops for the photos, this … [Read more...]

My happy medium is keeping a few scraps of the seasonal paper to include in a traditional art journal page, and also scanning it in to include on digital pages. Digital Pages/ProjectsIt is super easy to include gift wrap on digital scrapbooking pages by scanning in the papers. There are several methods for including wrapping paper into your digital scrapbooking. Here are just a few of my favorites: … [Read more...]

Turkey Leftovers
So many of my holiday memories revolve around food, where we ate, what we ate and when. Some of my fondest memories of Christmas are of our family dinners and sometimes, even better, the turkey leftovers. More than anything, my favorite use for leftover turkey is a sandwich. There is nothing better, in my opinion, than turkey leftovers on fresh, soft, squishy white bread slathered with butter and mayo, and sprinkled with salt & pepper; simple but oh so yummy! My next fave sandwich would be a ciabatta bun with the above mentioned ingredients, but add in some pesto, tomatoes, sprouts and bacon. Are you getting hungry yet?I've taken photos over the years of our Christmas breakfast and dinner but I've never taken a photo of the leftovers or scrapped about them. This year I will. I wish I had done this years ago because I'm certain that my fave leftover meals were different back … [Read more...]
