Hi everyone! I've been thinking a lot lately about our favorite holiday traditions. My family loves spending time together during the holiday season watching our favorite holiday movies. We've gotten quite the collection of favorites over the years. I decided it would be fun to document our ten favorites on a scrapbook layout. This was made a very easy task with Fiddle Dee Dee Design's Merry and Bright Christmas Favorites template collection. This template has ten spots for your favorite movies and plenty of journaling space to write about why they made your favorites list. I also used Bella Gypsy's Oh What Fun Bundle for this layout. To scrap this layout, I found images of each movie's DVD cover (on Amazon), saved them to my computer, and sized them down to fit in the photo spots. Here are my family's top ten favorite holiday movies: Elf The Gruffalo Coat of … [Read more...]

My favorite winter drink y’all!
One of our favorite winter indoor activities - drinking hot cocoa! Instead of the powdered mess that's on the shelves (sorry Swiss Miss), I like to make a large crock pot full! The recipe I like to make is good for both kids and adults and it makes me smile! Why? Because smiling is my favorite! I love that it has a coffee taste without coffee. Like who wants their kids to have caffeine at night? Ummm NOT ME!Prep time - about 5 minutes. Just mix the ingredients and heat on high for approx 4 hours, stirring every 30 min or so. It's super easy - and oh so yummy!!One of my favorite ingredients - is the Peppermint creamer (shout out to International Delight!). They carry many flavors like Pumpkin Spice and Salted Carmel Mocha but this sucker is my favorite! Top with whip cream & … [Read more...]
Page Design Using Lists
Many of you might be a list maker, as I am. As I've gotten older, I find I rely on them more and more in my day-to-day routine. So it's no surprise that I use them also in my scrapbook page design. I make to-do lists, grocery lists, chore lists, gym schedule lists and many more. I'm old school and like to write it down on paper. I do have a Google calender for keeping track of things but I like to see it written down and it tends to stick in my brain better if I do that. My office, kitchen and living room desk all have pads of paper and pens for me to jot down info.A fun page design is to scrap about some of those lists you make, take photos of them. For my page, I took a few photos with my iPhone, resizing one of them smaller to fit over the note-book element and the other I enlarged and applied a filter, blending it into the background. It's also fun to have a record of my … [Read more...]

Recreating Painterly and Blended Background Photo [with video]
Hey everyone! I thought I would do a quick post on how I did the photo blending on my background on this page with the November 2016 awesome M3. A lot of this was learned from Jana and the November 2016 Champions at Scrapaneers (which featured an awesome kit of Lynn's!).First off you are going to need a smart phone, or know how to recreate your own pencil like sketching in your photo editing software. I used the Prisma App for both of my photos editing but for this little tutorial, I am going to focus on the blended background photo.Open your photo in Prisma and you will find all kinds of fun filters to create painting/drawing effects on your photos. These change regularly! So if there is one that you like edit a bunch of photos with it and save them because it might not be there long! For my photo I ran the #GettUrban filter. I wanted to keep some of the blue of … [Read more...]
