Hello! Polly Karen here bring you another installment of the popular Polly Picks! Every two weeks we ask one of our staff members to choose their favorite products in the shop. Then we put those products on sale! Our latest Polly Picks sale includes products chosen by the fabulous Sarah (PLM): Sarah (PLM) is one of our newer Pollys, so it has been great getting to know her behind the scenes over the last year or so. She is incredibly sweet and a very talented scrapper too! As I was strolling through her gallery I noticed that she really can scrap in any style and make it look fabulous! I asked Sarah to describe her style, and this is what she had to say:“Describing my style is really hard for me, since I never know how my page will turn out when I start scrapping. I feel like it depends on the mood I'm in, what's been going on in my life and which … [Read more...]

Board Gaming with Teens
Hi everyone, Sarah here and I'm so happy to share with you all another board gaming post. This time I wanted to highlight some games that are great for playing with your teenagers (or for teens to play with one another). I have a teenaged daughter that has been playing board games since she was two and I asked her what some of her favorite games are (nothing like going right to the source). Hopefully you'll find something here that appeals to your teen (or even yourself as these games are enjoyable for adults as well). The first game I'm going to talk about is Smash Up. In this game you take two decks of cards and smash them together to form your deck that you play with. Some fun examples you can wind up with are Robot Dinosaurs or Alien Pirates. There are quite a few expansions available to enhance the experience, the latest being Pretty Pretty Smash Up. We don't own it yet but … [Read more...]
4 Tips for Documenting the Bad Days
We all have bad days right? As much as we would love it if we didn't, they are a fact of life. In my scrapping, I try hard to represent "what life is like" and I feel strongly that that sometimes means the bad days too. Today, I wanted to share 4 tips I have for including the bad days in your catalog of layouts.Tip 1: Keep it simpleOften, we I am trying to document a bad day or bad mood, I don't want to go into much detail. I loved this layout by mirjam because it talked about a bad mood, but really didn't go into much detail. Even the layout is kept simple. This is an easy way to get the bad mood documented, but not have to relive it all again. Tip 2: Use color and elements to convey moodIt's true that some colors seem more "angry" than others: reds, blacks, deep purples all come to mind. The same goes for scribbles...they always seem angry, the … [Read more...]

Planner Love: DIY Planner Accessories Part 2
Hi, everyone. Sarah here and I'm so excited to bring you another round of DIY Planner accessories. I'm using the Me and My Big Ideas Happy Planner but these accessories could work with almost any planner system.Since next week is my birthday week I decided to use the It's Your Birthday Element Pack from Just Jaimee for my planner pages and accessories. I also used the coordinating papers and journal cards. I love the fun pastel colors and cute doodles so much! For my first accessory I decided to try my hand at making a dashboard. I printed two of the papers back to back on a sheet of bright white cardstock and covered it with clear shelf liner (I used Duck brand). To be able to place it in my planner I marked were the holes need to go and then took a regular 1/4" office hole punch and punched the holes. The next step was to use a pair of small scissors to cut narrow … [Read more...]
