Over the years, I have found organizing my digital stash to be a huge monkey on my back. If you don't do it too often, you can't find anything. Organizing regularly takes up time that I would rather be scrapping. Sometimes, the amount of products I get just overwhelms the amount of time I am willing to use to organize. My system is by no means perfect, but there are some tricks that I have learned for keeping my stash organized without spending a lot of time doing it. I work exclusively in ACDSee 16, as that it what I am accustomed to. The tips I will share here today are not specific to ACDSee, nor do I expect everyone is going to start using ACDSee right after they read this post. So to start out, when I purchase an item from the store, it goes directly into a folder called "Downloads." I have it set up so that anything I download goes directly into … [Read more...]

Delicious Dole Whip Recipe
It's no secret that I love all things Disney. I've blogged many times here at TLP about how I capture and preserve the memories from our trips. Recently, my oldest daughter had a luau for her birthday, and I knew that we would have to include our favorite Disney treat as part of the party menu - The Dole Whip. If you've never had a Dole Whip, the best way to explain it is that it's like creamy pineapple soft serve. It's something that you can only get at a Disney Park or Resort, and so many people have tried to replicate the recipe at home. Today, I want to share with you the recipe that I use most often. To start off, you are going to need a few things. First, you will need some sugar, pineapple juice (Dole is always better), heavy whipping cream, vanilla extract, and some yellow food coloring. In addition, you will need an ice cream maker to … [Read more...]
Modern Board Games
Hi everyone, Sarah here and I want to take a few minutes to talk about a subject that is very near and dear to me. Like many people, I grew up playing board games. We had well loved copies of Monopoly, Clue, Sorry!, and Uno among many others. It was a great rainy day activity to pull out Scrabble or Checkers and play a family game. One of my fondest memories was that whenever my grandparents would visit they almost always brought their copy of Rummikub to play with us (I now have my own fancy briefcase edition of this game mainly because of the fond memories I associate with it). I never really outgrew the hobby of board gaming. Throughout my high school and college days I continued playing games with my family and friends. As I entered into adulthood and a career there was less chance for gaming but my love of these games never waned. After I got married and had my daughter the quest … [Read more...]
