Delicious Dole Whip Recipe
It’s no secret that I love all things Disney. I’ve blogged many times here at TLP about how I capture and preserve the memories from our trips. Recently, my oldest daughter had a luau for her birthday, and I knew that we would have to include our favorite Disney treat as part of the party menu – The Dole Whip. If you’ve never had a Dole Whip, the best way to explain it is that it’s like creamy pineapple soft serve. It’s something that you can only get at a Disney Park or Resort, and so many people have tried to replicate the recipe at home. Today, I want to share with you the recipe that I use most often.

To start off, you are going to need a few things. First, you will need some sugar, pineapple juice (Dole is always better), heavy whipping cream, vanilla extract, and some yellow food coloring. In addition, you will need an ice cream maker to create the Dole Whip. I will put the exact amounts at the end of the post.

To start off, you are going to add the pineapple juice to the sugar.
Next, you are going to mix the sugar and pineapple juice until all of the sugar has dissolved.
Now, you are going to add the heavy whipping cream. Once that’s added, you again are going to mix it all together.
Now you are going to add the vanilla, and a few drops of yellow food coloring. The yellow food coloring is totally optional. I like giving the Dole Whip a little boost to make it look a bit more yellow, but it would taste good even if it wasn’t yellow. Just a few drops will do. Last time I put too much in and the Dole Whip looked like it was glowing.
Once it’s all mixed together, you are going to pour it into the ice cream maker. At this point, you should follow the manufacturer’s directions for your ice cream maker. I let mine churn for about 45 minutes, but yours could take a little more or a little less time.
Once it’s done in the ice cream maker, it will be like a creamy soft serve. You can totally eat it at this point. Usually when I make it, I have a good portion right out of the ice cream maker. While, it’s delicious like this, I actually enjoy freezing it a bit more so it resembles a hard ice cream.
So I scrape the Dole Whip out of the ice cream maker and into a Tupperwear container. Then I put it into the fridge to set. Overnight is best, but it’s usually ready to each after 4-5 hours.
When you take it out, you can scoop it just like regular ice cream. It still has a smooth, soft texture, but it’s easier to put a serving together when it’s frozen like this.
This is how we usually enjoy our Dole Whip, but this isn’t the only option. You can use the Dole Whip to make a float with either more pineapple juice or give it a more adult touch and add some pineapple juice mixed with rum. Whichever way you like it, I can assure you it’s delicious. Here is the recipe written out:
