When I was a layout scrapper, I used white space a lot. I loved having a full 12x12 page, and then focusing all of my photos and layouts on a small portion of the page. I found it aesthetically pleasing, and felt like it helped to focus on the photos. I always envied the people who could do full page layouts with tons of embellishments and such and still keep it from looking cluttered, mainly because I couldn't seem to figure it out. When I started pocket scrapping, I struggled to find how white space could work on those layouts. I always felt guilty giving up some card space to incorporate some white space, and so I didn't. The thing is, when you have potentially 12 pockets on a single page, each one filled to the brim with card layout and "stuff", it can get pretty overwhelming pretty quickly. Polly Picks-Trista
Trista is a genius with a printer, scissors and GLUE!! Then onto of it, and she can scrap beautifully also! I think this Polly Picks will inspire and perhaps even be a gentle nudge to try a whole new side to Digital Scrapbooking! Read what Trista says about her style:"If you visit my gallery you will find that my scrapping style is all over the map. You will find anything from messy art journal pages to clean blocked pages and a little bit of everything in between. Some constants in my scrap pages are bold patterned papers, paint, paint, and more paint, stitches, journal cards, word art, brushes and stamps. Another thing that I seem to do a lot of lately is to use journal cards not only for pocket scrapping, but also in other ways. I really like layering journal cards on regular scrapbook layouts."The very first pages of Trista's gallery shows off her scrapping … [Read more...]

Both kids have binders that are used on a daily basis so I created personalized covers and slipped them inside the clear front panel of their binders. For my son's cover I used the Srsly Stoked collaboration from Kate Hadfield … [Read more...]
