Hi everyone! Polly Shannon here with a tip to help you fit more pictures on your Project Life spread. Some weeks I find myself wanting to include more photos, but not wanting to do an insert. Enter photo collages. You can fit multiple photos onto a 4x6 print, and it also adds some visual interest. It's also a nice way to group many photos from a specific event close together. Check out the two different collages that I included in my week 6 spread. In the top photo you can see my collage in the bottom left corner. I love some white space so I incorporated it here, and added a little title. In the bottom photo my collage is in the bottom right corner. I went a little different with this one, clipping paper in one of the photo spots.I know that collages will be making regular appearances in my Project Life this year. The best part is that the designers at TLP have our back, as … [Read more...]
A Happy Hybrid Document Your December Album
Hi, Michelle here today! Are you creating a December album this year? Maybe you couldn't resist grabbing some of that fun Christmas-y washi tape that's taking over Pinterest:And of course, crafty blogs and craft stores - and even Walmart - overflow with gorgeous holiday paper, stickers, buttons, ephemera, and more this time of year. It's enough to plant the paper itch in the most die-hard digi gal among us! I definitely caught the bug this year, plus I had a stash of paper crafting supplies from years past that were crying out for attention.BUT then I saw the Document Your December section in the TLP store. It's ok, you can come back when you're done shopping!). And I decided I wanted the best of both worlds this … [Read more...]
Hybrid seed packet card
Hi, it's Sharon (guest hybrid Polly) here with a cute little Fall gift card that I made with my new Cameo Silhouette! It's taken me a few days of playing around to work out how to use it but wow is all I can say! How easy it makes cutting out digital files, especially those small and intricate ones, so I can certainly see a lot more hybrid goodies being whipped up in the future! To start with, I opened up all the digital files in my Silhouette Cameo software my using the 'File, Merge' function so they all fitted nicely onto the one page which makes it more economical for paper saving. I used an 8.5 x 11 inch Epson Matte Heavyweight Photo Paper. You'll notice on my final card below that there are some other digital embellishments - these were cut out by hand as I had some left over from other projects I have been making. The Cameo has a 'Send To Printer' function, so off the … [Read more...]
5 hybrid scrapbooking tips
Hi, it's guest Hybrid Polly Sharon (aka skyezak) here with a few tips for those of you that might be considering dabbling in the world hybrid scrapbooking. If you're a pure digital scrapbooker, you might wonder why you'd want to get all messy and have clutter, glue, scissors and what-not across your desk (come on...it's really part of the fun)! If you've come from a traditional paper scrapbooking background, then it might be a lot less daunting to get into hybrid, but you might also be wondering why do it as well? People who I've shown my digital layouts to that have no idea what digital is all about say they love my layouts but they need to do the lumpy, bumpy schtuff...half the fun is cutting and pasting your page together they say. They don't really like the look of a flat page. Well it is fun getting down and dirty with your glue and scissors, but digital scrapbooking does offer the … [Read more...]
