Hello everyone! It’s Polly Karen back again with a look at our new batch of monthly challenges for November. Each month we have 8 brand new challenges that are posted in the forum Challenge Pad on the 1st day of the month. (the BYOC Challenge is posted on the 1st Friday of the month.) You can use the challenges simply to inspire you to keep creating new layouts OR you can also earn yourself a fabulous coupon for your next shopping trip in the Lilypad Store. (2 challenges = 10%, 4 challenges = 20% and 6 challenges = 30%). Those who complete at least 7 challenges will be entered in a drawing for a $50 gift certificate! Isn’t that an awesome prize?!?! You’ll get lots of great memories captured in your scrapbooks AND you could win a fat gift certificate prize!!! Pretty great, right?! So let’s take a look at this month’s new batch of challenges!
1. Photography Challenge – The first challenge up for November is the Photography Challenge hosted by Natasha (bcnatty). Natasha would like you to take a series of photos in a short period of time and then feature at least 3 of them on a layout. Here’s a great sample layout Natasha created with some photos of her son’s hockey celebration:
2. Template Challenge – The Template Challenge for November is being hosted by Courtney (bestcee). All you have to do to play along is download the free template made by Ninigoesdigi and then create a layout using that fun template. Here’s a look at the free template followed by a sample layout that Courtney made using it:
3. Inspiration Challenge – The next challenge is the Inspiration Challenge. This challenge is being hosted by Jenn (jk703) this month and she would like to challenge you to take a look at some samples of street art that she posted in the forum and then create a layout inspired by any of those images. Here’s a cool street art inspired layout created by Jenn:
4. Journaling Challenge – The Journaling Challenge for November is being hosted by Ashely (ashleywb) and she would like you to create a layout and include at least 5 sentences of journaling about something good in your life right now. Here’s a layout Ashley created to capture something good in her own life right now:
5. Scraplift Challenge – Heather (HeatherB) is hosting the Scraplift Challenge for this month and she has to decided pick our three newest Pollys to scraplift. Kelly (KayTeaPea), Angela (Angela Toucan) and Jennifer (littlekiwi) joined the ranks of the Pollywogs last month. To scraplift one of them, simply go to one of their amazing galleries (Kelly, Angela, Jennifer) and pick a layout that you love and then create a new scraplifted version of it. Here is a look at a layout that Heather picked from Kelly’s gallery, followed by her scraplifted version:
6. Style Challenge – Next up in the challenge lineup is the Style Challenge. This challenge is hosted by Lori (lcpereyra) and she wants you to channel your inner retro vibes this month and create a retro style challenge. Here’s a peek at Lori’s great retro layout:
7. Random Challenge – The Random Challenge for November is being hosted by Kayla (keepscrappin). Kayla would like you to create a layout that uses circle shapes to scrap about your circle of family and/or friends. So double use of circles this month on this challenge. Here’s a sample layout created by Kayla using circles that shows her circle of family:
8. BYOC Challenge – Finally we have the BYOC Challenge. This challenge will be hosted and posted by Christa (Cfile) tomorrow, Friday, November 3rd, when the BYOC Collection for November will be released in the store. The challenge will be to use 90% of the products on your page from this month’s BYOC collection and from at least 3 designers.
Challenge Galleries: (post your pages to these galleries)
There is your quick peek at this month’s brand new batch of challenges. Once you create your own layouts inspired by these challenges, be sure to post them to the appropriate galleries as listed above. Then be sure to also post them to the appropriate thread in the challenge forum. See the thread HERE for further challenge guidelines and see the November Challenge Pad HERE to get started! Don’t forget to post all of your completed layouts in the Challenge Layouts thread so we can be sure to get you the proper coupon at the end of the month.
