Tomorrow, I host the 30th out of 31 challenges of the MOC 9! I am very excited, and almost didn't do a challenge, due to family happenings here in the middle of no where. At the last moment, I was perusing my handy dandy folder called inspiration and the challenge for tomorrow came to me! But in this folder were so many more challenges you should be so happy, I did not get to do...trust me, I tried to get them thru the rigorous panel of Pollys that play "devils advocate" with our challenges.Shall we look at a few: Make a silhouette of yourself, and then insert rooms to your thoughts, and it must be in black and white with dramatic shadows. Our Dear Cynthia aka MrsPeel has already finished her sample page, and her 23 different rooms were gorgeous, I thought that if Cynthia could do it everyone should get a try! But, the powers that be shot it down.2. Photography … [Read more...]

Monthly Journal Prompt
Hi pad scrappers!!With a new year here, I am thinking about some of my scrapbooking goals and projects for this year. One thing that is on my list is a monthly journal prompt called "What is saving my life right now?".The idea for this came from a blogger that I follow who posts this prompt seasonally. I have high hopes to revisit this topic on a monthly basis. It is fairly easy to come up with a list of what is "killing" us at any given time. But, it is a challenge--a worthwhile and good challenge--to think of what is giving us life. Each month, I want to scrap a layout listing the things, big and small, that are saving me. I also plan to include a selfie in these monthly layouts as well. I am excited to see how this project takes shape throughout the year. For my January "what is saving my life" layout, I used a template from Sahin Designs' January 2016 template set and … [Read more...]

Single Tasking is Not a Bad Thing – Slow Down and eM Oh Cee what happens!
Single-tasking rather than switching between a multitude of tasks and focusing on none of them. Slowing down is a conscious choice and is sometimes really hard in a world that moves so fast. While researching for this blog, I learned that at art galleries where some of the most beautiful masterpieces are displayed, that visitors only spend around 15-30 seconds looking at a piece of art. The ability to concentrate and stop the rush of life and take in the art.I am a prolific scrapper, I can sit down one afternoon and crank out 5-10 pages. I enjoy the time creating. I love the way my brain feels when the page is complete! There is something satisfying when those pages are complete. That happens when I don't have other things happening, (laundry, cooking, answering questions, phone messages or deadlines looming in brain). Last week, my husband took my boys out of town for … [Read more...]
Creating a Stamped Background
Hello Pad scrappers!!!I hope you are all enjoying this year's Month of Challenges as much as I am! I love seeing all the unique layouts filling the gallery so much!!For today's blog post, I thought I would try my hand at yesterday's challenge, creating a stamped background. This fun challenge is to create a unique background for your layout using stamps.I chose to use stamps from the Citrus element pack by Michele Lincoln Designs, currently on sale for 50% off.First, I started with a 12x12 sized document and a white background paper from the Beautiful Life kit by Sabrina's Creations.I then added stamps of lemons slices and half slices from the element pack and duplicated layers until they (mostly) filled the page.Next I added some more dimensional lemon slices and half-lemon slices to the empty spaces. Then it was time to play with the stamped … [Read more...]
