Hello Pad scrappers!!!
I hope you are all enjoying this year’s Month of Challenges as much as I am! I love seeing all the unique layouts filling the gallery so much!!
For today’s blog post, I thought I would try my hand at yesterday’s challenge, creating a stamped background. This fun challenge is to create a unique background for your layout using stamps.
I chose to use stamps from the Citrus element pack by Michele Lincoln Designs, currently on sale for 50% off.
First, I started with a 12×12 sized document and a white background paper from the Beautiful Life kit by Sabrina’s Creations.
I then added stamps of lemons slices and half slices from the element pack and duplicated layers until they (mostly) filled the page.
Next I added some more dimensional lemon slices and half-lemon slices to the empty spaces.
Then it was time to play with the stamped background. I changed the color of the lemon slices to yellow and lowered the opacity. I did each layer separately and varied the opacity from the 60-70% range. I also rotated the lemon slices to give variety.
Here’s what the background looked like when I was finished playing.
I finished the layout by adding papers, a photo and elements. Here is my finished layout…
This is the first time I’ve played with stamps to create my own background paper and I had so much fun doing it!!! This is definitely a technique I’ll be playing with again!
