Hello all my artsy friends! Ahhhh, it's almost time for sunglasses to make a prominent appearance in our photos (at least here in the States). Along with those fabulous sunglasses, come the distracting reflections that often appear in the lenses. There are times when you want those reflections to show through - you might even set up the photograph to catch a particular reflection. But, there are also times when the reflections are just plain distracting to the viewer (and the page on which you are placing the photo). Never fear though, there is a quick fix to eliminate (or sufficiently diminish) the distracting reflections. Here is a page I recently created with a fabulous new summer kit by Little Butterfly Wings and Studio Basic Designs called Beachscape. Here is a before and after comparison of the … [Read more...]

Minimalist Style With M3
I've been a fan of the Mixed Media Monthly products since the inception of this monthly release in 2014. Back then, my minimalist, clean style may not have, at first thought, seemed like a good fit for the M3 products but suprisingly, it was. Over the years, I then started to dabble in art journaling, experimenting with brushes, overlays, transfers and textures and my love for M3 grew even more as my style grew to often include more brushwork and texture. So what I've discovered is that, no matter what your style, you can have fun with the M3 products, using what you are comfortable with and maybe experimenting with other products. You can find all the M3 products in The Lilypad store HERE.What originally drew me to M3 products was the patterns and colors. Each month there is a theme with a cohesive collection of products from the designers. Each monthly release was so different … [Read more...]
Creating a Custom Stamp Using Digi Supplies
One thing I have been working on lately is actually DOING the things I want to do and making real goals to learn the skills I want to learn. Too often I put this process off until a later date (that really never comes) because I'm intimidated by my own supplies and tools. My husband gave me a Silhouette Mint stamp making tool last year. I was so excited to use it, but also very intimidated by it. I immediately took it out of the box and placed it on my desk. And there it sat looking pretty but not really doing me any good at all until yesterday. This tool holds so many possibilities for hybrid scrapbooking and card making (both new skills I am dipping my toes into). What I really love about it and the reason I'm sharing it here today is that I can use my plethora of digital scrapbooking supplies to create custom stamps for these endeavors!I used the camera element from … [Read more...]
How I Scrapped 11 Layouts in Four Days
This is the story of how I died. Or how I scrapped 11 layouts in four days.I've written here about completing Disney Albums multiple times. In fact, last year before my annual trip to WDW I rounded up all of my Disney posts to share with you. When I got back home, I wrote up a post about where I was headed in terms of my album from there. Fast forward almost 9 months, and as of a week ago, I had not started that album. However, last Monday, something motivated me to start.I had already sorted my pictures into themes, and I knew that I wanted to do a whole section on our day in the World Showcase at Epcot. Project Mouse had released the Around the World bundle, and I knew that would be perfect for scrapping these photos. Given that I already knew the theme and what products I wanted to use, I figured scrapping our day in World Showcase would be the place to start....and I ended up … [Read more...]
