Kid Friendly April Fools' Day Pranks are fun when I am the one sharing the prank, not the one being pranked. In our house we are all about pranking, as long as there is no physical threat or damage. Over the years I have been able to pull off some pretty crafty pranks. Truth be told, the kids love to see the silly side of mom and April Fools' Day is the perfect excuse for silliness. For many years my children have suffered through a series of pranks every April Fools' Day. Here is just a small sampling of my twisted tricks, the family friendly ones of course.Mixing up cereal is one of my favorites. While the kids are asleep, I simply switch the cereal bags from two different brands of cereal. This one is super easy and really starts the day with a kick, because their heads are still foggy from sleep. The confusion on my son's face in the image below is priceless!!Another … [Read more...]

Q&A Mini Album
Hi everyone, Sarah here with a quick DIY disc bound mini album. I love how quick and easy this came together so I wanted to share it with all of you.I began by printing some of the cards from the Memory Pockets Monthly Q&A main collection. I also printed some of the fun questions from Allison Pennington's 20 Questions: Famous Questions, as well as created my own label for the cover using her 20 Questions: Dymo-mite.I adhered the cards back to back and used my Me and My Big Ideas Happy Planner punch to punch the side where the discs will go. To punch the cards for the album I made sure to center the holes that I would be punching to the cards so that binding would be fairly centered on the album.I was able to punch through the two pieces of card stock here with a little extra effort with this punch. There are quite a few of these types of punches out there, some … [Read more...]

Dear Polly: March 2016
Hey y'all! Polly back at it again with another Dear Polly segment. This is my favorite time of year, as we move from Winter into Spring, and I am lovin' seeing everbody's awesome layouts showin' off the season. This month I'm fixin' to follow up on some questions from the last few months, so let's get started. So a while back I was surfing through the forums, and I found this thread from DeniseB817 asking how to put text inside of a shape. It jumped out at me right away because when I first started scrappin' that was one thing that I had to search to learn about. I could try and explain to y'all how to do it, but there are two great resources in the thread. One is a video of how to do it in Photoshop, and the other is a step-by-step from Polly Courtney about how to do it in PSE. You can catch up on that thread HERE.Secondly, I wanted to bring up an old trick that I use on a lot of … [Read more...]
