We are in full swing over in the forums and the store with DSD celebrations all weekend long! There are some amazing new products that you will want (need!) to pick up in the store by all the designers, new projects by the Pollys and there is also a Polly Team Call! You can find the details for that HERE in the forum. For this hybrid girl, I am a little overwhelmed with it all! BUT I am hosting a challenge and I want YOU to participate!!Of course, you know I want you to do hybrid or at least try it! It's not hard and doesn't have to be complicated at all! I am challenging you to make a card, that's it! But the other part is you have to print it out and upload it to the gallery. Cards are SO easy to try hybrid if you never have and you don't have to print a lot at all. You can just print a journal card and put it on on a card front, add a greeting (or not) and call it done! … [Read more...]
Create a Card: Packaging Technique for Backgrounds
I enjoy giving cards to family and friends. Cards are perfect way to send birthday wishes, celebrate a special event, or even to just say hello to someone. I always try to have a selection of homemade cards on hand to give out for any of these occasions. I’ve noticed my supply of cards has been getting a bit low and committed myself to making a few cards to bolster it up. New adventures/traveling is the theme of today’s card. I also am sharing a video on how to create a card background using the packaging technique.I know quite a few people who are starting new adventures this fall. While adventures can be exciting they can also be nerve wracking too. What better way to help calm the nerves of someone than to give them a homemade card with well wishes in it? A card about exploring the world was begging to be made.To make this card I used the following supplies: Roam … [Read more...]

Fall is here and the big kids are back at school. I've still got a few little kids that don't go to school yet. My little kids who aren’t in school yet want to do some “schoolwork” just like their siblings do. I don’t want to disappoint them, so I do some preschool learning activities with them. Over the years of doing preschool with my kids I have ran into one major problem....finding manipulatives that readily available or don't come in huge quantities. Eventually I stumbled upon the idea of creating my own maniuplatives using my digi supplies! Yet another way to stretch my digi stash! Today I'm going to show you how creating your own manipulatives is as simple as 1 -2 - 3!1. Select a digi element to be made into a manipulative. I chose to use leaves from Fantabulous Fall Elements by Kim Jensen. I am introducing the season fall to my kids. South Texas doesn't have fall … [Read more...]
Using SVGs to Print and Cut
Recently I have been using the MPM(Memory Pockets Monthly) to work on my backlog of pocket pages that need finished. I was excited to see that the MPM’s came with SVG cut files. The cut files have been designed to work as a print and cut! I knew that my Silhouette Studio Designer Edition software was meant to handle this. However when I tried to use the SVGs I couldn’t figure out how to use them. I took my problem to the designers of the MPM. They quickly taught me how to use them and it was so easy! Today I want to share how to use SVGs to print and cuts in Silhouette Studio software.1. Open up the SVG file in Silhouette Studio. Typically you will know you have the right file because all the shapes are black. (Please note: This will only work if you have the DESIGNER EDITION!)2. Open the Cut Settings window and change the setting to Cut. Now you will see the red cut lines … [Read more...]
