Hello everyone! Polly Karen here! It’s September and I’m here to show off the 8 monthly challenges that the Challenge Polly’s have created for this month. Each month we have 8 brand new challenges that are posted in the forum Challenge Pad on the 1st (the BYOC Challenge is posted on the 1st Friday of the month.) You can use the challenges simply to inspire you to keep creating new layouts OR you can also earn yourself a fabulous coupon for your next shopping trip in the Lilypad Store. (2 challenges = 10%, 4 challenges = 20% and 6 challenges = 30%). This month we have one change. Those who complete at least 7 challenges will be entered in a drawing for a $50 gift certificate! Isn’t that an awesome prize?!?! You’ll get lots of great memories captured in your scrapbooks AND you could win a fat GC prize!!! Woo-hoo! So let’s take a look at this month’s new batch of challenges!
1. Random Challenge – First up for September is the Random Challenge hosted by our Guest Polly Christa (cfile). Christa was remembering her childhood when the only color on her TV was the NBC Living Color Peacock and would like you to mimic this with an all B&W layout with only one item in color. Here is a great example page created by Christa:
2. Scraplift Challenge – Next up this month is the Scraplift Challenge hosted by Courtney (bestcee). The challenge is to find a layout in the Lilypad Froggy Favorite board on Pinterest and then create a layout inspired by it. Courtney picked this page and then created the following scraplifted layout:
3. Journaling Challenge – The Journaling Challenge for September is hosted by Heather (HeatherB) and she wants you to create a layout and then include journaling in the form of a list on your page. Here’s a sample that Heather created to get you started:
4. Inspiration Challenge – Heather (talktoheather) is hosting this month’s Inspiration Challenge. As a resident of Texas, Heather has been battling Hurricane Harvey over the last few weeks. She says it’s been emotional to see the photos of the places she grew up and friend’s places destroyed by the storm. With all of that in mind Heather would like you to be inspired by one of her favorite songs by Jason Mraz, Sunshine Song. She created the following layout with a line from the song:
5. BYOC Challenge – The BYOC Challenge for September is hosted by Ashley (ashleywb). This challenge is to use 90% of the products on your page from the current BYOC collection and from at least 3 designers. Here is a sample layout created by Ashley:
6. Template Challenge – Natasha (bcnatty) is hosting September’s Template Challenge. The challenge is to use the free template supplied by Krista of Sahlin Studio and create a layout using it. Here’s a look at the free template followed by a sample created by Natasha:
7. Style Challenge – The Style Challenge for this month is being hosted by Jenn (jenn mccabe) and she would like you to incorporate a diagonal composition into your page, where the main focus of the page moves from one corner to the opposite corner diagonally. Here is a perfect example created by Jenn for this challenge:
8. Photography Challenge – Finally we have the Photography Challenge for September. This challenge is hosted by Lori (lcpereyra) and she is challenging you to photograph and then scrap about a reflection. This gorgeous beach layout created by Lori is a great example of a reflection photograph:
Challenge Galleries: (post your pages to these galleries)
Wow! Another month and another fabulous batch of challenges created by our Pollys and Guest Pollys. Once you create your own layouts inspired by these challenges, be sure to post them to the appropriate galleries as listed above. Then be sure to also post them to the appropriate thread in the challenge forum. See the thread HERE for further challenge guidelines and see the September Challenge Pad HERE to get started! Don’t forget to post all of your completed layouts in the Challenge Layouts thread so we can be sure to get you the proper coupon at the end of the month. I’ll be back near the end of the month to shine my spotlight on some of the pages created for these challenges! I can’t wait to see what you come up with! Happy scrapping!
