Deep dark NAVY blue! The color actually came from the dark blue worn by officers in the Brittish Royal Navy! The fun about the color NAVY is how it can play off any color! You can go with traditional red white and NAVY blue. Or you can go all wild add some yellow or tangerine..or other blues. I think deep denim with the color NAVY.The Pollys jumped all over the challenge too:Sucali always, always makes me smile and wonder how her creativity overflows, the strips of NAVY along with the flowers are pure awesome on her page:Dear PLM touches my heart as her month as a Guest Polly comes to an end, with her tribute to the Lily pad. Her tiny accents of NAVY speak volumes on her page!Christineirion's photo with the way cool lines from the rails draws your eye right across to all the fun NAVY papers and is perfect for a beach page. This happens to be my most … [Read more...]

Organizing from Dropbox to Lightroom to Bliss
I like to organize things. In fact, I spend way more time organizing things than I really should. When I first started my pocket scrapping project, I would spend hours uploading, sorting, moving and tagging my photos. This took up the majority of the time I spent at my computer. I knew that if I was to keep up the project, I would need to find a way to make this whole process a lot easier.First, I got Lightroom all set up. I found that in Lightroom, you could create Smart Collections that would pull all the pictures that were captured within a certain date range. To create the Smart Collection, click the + next to the collections tab and choose "smart collection." You can go ahead and name the smart collection, I made it simple and named each collection by the week. You can leave it to match "all" and then from the drop down, pick "capture date." Once you've done this, you need to … [Read more...]

I have to admit, I do not do it often enough. Polly Picks – Tronesia
I will have to admit to knowing so much about Tronesia and her family because EVERYone of her pages draws me in and makes me want to know more about her, her daughter and especially her new baby boy!!! Her pictures are always so crisp and cropped in the perfect way and oh my gosh, the photographs of her daughter and hubby together make me smile so deep !Here is Tronesia's own words about her style:I'd describe my scrapping style as clean, crisp, classic and full of color. I love to play with color and more than anything I enjoy telling the stories of my everyday life. I have tried to have a page without journaling and it does not work out for me. Without the story, it feels like my layout is missing something.Photos are a big part of my pages too. I started scrapbooking to have a creative way to display my family's photos instead of just putting them in an album. Once I … [Read more...]
Fun In The Kitchen With Kids
Hello pad ponderers! We are off to a pretty good start to our school year. We have our daily routine worked out. One thing that has really started to be a struggle is figuring out meals. To put some pep into our mundane meals I turned to Pinterest of course! We are a mixed family of palettes and having picky eaters can be a little bit taxing. To cope, we had to come up with clever ways to get the kids involved in the meal process. Being involved has really helped the kids come around to the idea of trying new things.Today, I want to share with you some fun ideas that we have found to work brilliantly in getting the kids excited about helping in the kitchen. Visit the TLP Pinterest Board for even more ideas.1. Make grocery lists. Let the kids help write out the grocery list. It can be helpful to ask them for suggestions.2. Let the little ones help shop. Whether it is … [Read more...]
Funky Fairy Furniture
Greetings, Happy Scrappers!Polly Liana here to show you a little something I've been working on-- fairy furniture. I inherited my Mom's fascination for fairies at an early age. She used to read to me from a book called "The Glass Harmonica" that was all about fairies and other magical woodland creatures. As a child, I loved the idea of tiny magical people hiding around our house. Now as an adult, my family lives next to the woods and when we go for walks, I always ask my daughters to keep an eye out for signs of fairies. After seeing a few neat fairy houses on the Internet, I decided to make some fairy furniture of my own so I could surprise my daughters in our backyard.First, I went to my local craft and floral shop and purchased several different widths of sticks for my project. I also got some wooden disks and moss. I cut the sticks into similar lengths according to what … [Read more...]
