To some of us, there is nothing more nerve-wracking than attempting a scrapping style out of your comfort zone or more daunting than a blank canvas with infinite possibilities.(OK, yes, I'm talking about me personally but I'm sure this applies to others as well!)So in this blog series, I'm attempting to make Mixed Media less daunting by giving you (and me) some jumping off points. Where to begin with digi - mixed media scrapping? Right here for Mixed Media Beginners! I'm using the one on the right. The basic idea I … [Read more...]

Thoughtful Thursday: Simple Journaling
There isn't much that makes me happier in scrapbooking than clean and simple pages that showcase a lovely photo and includes some thoughtful journaling complimenting the photo. But sometimes coming up with that"simple" journaling can be so challenging! For me, this often happens when I'm over thinking things, so I have to remind myself to keep it simple and reflect on what it is that makes me love the photo I'm scrapping, and what I want to tell others about that photo. One of my journaling go-to's when I'm in this mind block is to use a formula for simple journaling: repetition and short sentences. And here’s some of my tips for making that work. One option I will do is combine a template spread that highlights 1 to 3 of the photos, and use a pocket type layout on the opposite page. This lets me highlight … [Read more...]
