Each year, the-Lily Pad host a Month of Challenges(MOC). Hundreds of scrappers take on the challenge of making 31 pages, all the while being active in the gallery, and forums. One of those scrappers are chosen to become a creative team member also known as a Polly(wog). The MOC Eight 2020 Event winner is: ArmyGrl aka Lisa! Although she has been a member since September of 2012, getting to know her and her extreme talents is the subject of today’s blog with a little question and answers:
Tell us about the pm you received to become a Polly and your reaction!?
Truth to told…the timing was 10,000% unexpected. I was like, uh-oh. What’d I do? Who did I offend? Who do I need to apologize to?
After I read the message I was like…Oh, okay. A Matthew McConaughey Green Lights moment. You don’t say “no” to this. Green light.
When did you begin working with digital manipulation (photos shop) and what is your current program of choice for creating?
In 2008, I was introduced to Photoshop at work. I fell in love with the program and layouts in scrapbooking magazines that were digital. No-brainer. Purchase the program for myself.
Photoshops is still my #1. Geniuses developed that program. But shhh…secret….I want to learn to create on Procreate. Now, if I could only carve out the time…
You are given 3 types of elements and ONE and only ONE kind of paper…what would you chose and what colors are you drawn to?
The paper…give me a white, textured mixed media. The details in the paper give me a landing point for elements. They are almost, but not quite, a blank canvas.
Colors. Ha, ha. Rainbow. That’s my favorite color. But, not in a background paper. My preference is for solids.
Mojo has disappeared and you want to scrap, how or what do you do to get that mojo back?
Nature photography. Getting out into nature resets the soul and the imagination. And my gosh, the details, patterns and colors in nature. Inspired.
Pinterest and Instagram….they are digital art galleries. I don’t have to leave my recliner. Art inspires. And, it doesn’t have to be scrapbook oriented. Give me some collage work. And organic mixed media. Yum.
Where do you scrap? on what?
Um. See above. Recliner. Or, if the pups wants to snuggle, the sofa.
Platform…in 2015 I had to migrate from a desktop (his name was George) to a laptop (they deploy to Kuwait easier, her name was Gia). I broke Gia. Now I’m on Geo, a MacBook Pro. I love the trackpad. I don’t have to use a Wacom.
Oh, and pillow. I need the pillow to prop up my laptop. Recliner + Sofa + Pillow + laptop = creative environment.
Do you play any games on your phone? Tell us about it?
Mmm…from time to time I play Two Dots my iPhone, but that’s boring. I like Civilizations on the computer. Haha! The INTJ in me can RULL THE WORLD!!!! And if I don’t rule the world, I hit the quit button and start over until I RULL THE WORLD!!!!! (insert evil laughter here…and maybe some Austin Powers theme music…yeah, baby, yeah!)
Are you competitive?
Um. See above.
Your user name? Found this from MOC 6:
Do you print your pages? free pages or books?
Oh, sigh. I used to print my pages. That is one of the reasons I went 8.5×11. The other reason was Fibonacci sequences. Seriously. That was the closest I could get to Fibonacci sequences in American without out a special printer.
I feel guilty about not printing. But maybe I should not feel guilty about printing. I’m saving resources?
Favorite page you have made (top 3) YEAH, this is a hard one, self promotion…lol
Thank you for this challenge. It caused me to look through my TLP gallery and relook at past creations. Admittedly, if you ask me tomorrow, my top three will change.
To see these and more, just go thru ArmyGrl’s gallery and prepare to be inspired and wowed by originality and creativity!
What kind of hobbies do you have outside of scrapping!
There are hobbies outside of scrapping???????????????
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think we would all agree! Life outside of scrapping! NOPE! I am so excited to have ArmyGrl(Lisa) join the Pollys, and think the Lily Pad will have some amazing challenges coming from here too!
Welcome!
WHOOP congrats. Lisa has made me feel so welcome and her layouts are just aspirational works of art. PRINT THEM. LOL (cue evil laughter). Claire x
