Hello everyone and Happy Thursday! Just jumping in with a quick photo tip for you today. We recently returned from a fabulous trip to Paris and one of my photography goals was to try to get some unique and interesting shots of some of the quintessential landmarks. Of course, no one ever visits Paris without getting at least one (or 100) photos of the Eiffel Tower. I took some head on shots from different locations, but one of my favorite Tower photos was one that I took from an adjacent side street. The Tower is peeking out between the buildings and framed by some trees on one side and I love it!
The Cityscape Collab (Little Butterfly Wings and Studio Basic Designs) was the perfect kit to scrap it with too. :)
When you are traveling and photographing iconic landmarks or locations (or even everyday life), try to find a unique angle for your photograph that takes in the entire mood and scene. Instead of just remembering the Eiffel Tower every time I see this photo, I will also remember the street we were walking down, the soccer game taking place on a field right behind us and the moments we shared during that time. It makes the photo so much more personal than the head on shots of the Eiffel Tower (which you can readily find online anytime).
I would love to hear your travel photography tips and experiences too, so be sure to share them with us in the comments – or better yet – in the Photography Pad in the main forum. Did you know that The Lilypad has a forum dedicated to photography questions, tips and challenges? It does! Be sure to check it out the next time you are looking for some photography inspiration. :)
Until next time ~
Judie
