January 25th : Art Doll (Style Challenge)

Thankyou so very much for this challenge, when i saw it this morning i thought this might stop me from completing MOC but i challenged myself to do it tonight and its far from perfect but im really happy with how it turned out

inspired by winter

Cynthia @MrsPeel you always have crazy ideas ! that's why I love you

Moi, J'taime aussi!!!!!!!!!

Haha, now here's something I would not usually do!! Thanks for pushing me out of my comfort zone, this will be fun!

:heartlub:heartlub:heartlub that's it!!! have fun, go relax and imagination will do the rick, I'm sure you will be great!!!!!!

This is one of my favorite classical music pieces - I'm really enjoying listening to it while I scrap!!

The only one better would have been Smetana's "The Muldau"!

oh I will look it up!!!

I think our beloved @MrsPeel and our beloved @AnneofAlamo have been putting their heads together and comparing notes. I can hear them now as they decide what to do to us-----(bbwwwaaaahahahahahahahaha) :clappy<<< (MrsPeel) :giggle<<< (AnneofAlamo)

:rofl
I saw your page...it seems our torture pays well!!!!!! LOVE YOU!!!!!!!! :heartlub:heartlub:heartlub

Oh my. I definitely played with paper dolls when I was little, but I've never done a digi-doll! I was supposed to go shopping with my mom today, but she just sent me a message that my grandfather is back in the hospital with heart pains. That's all I know right now. SO I'm going to try to distract myself with some scrapping until I hear from her. If you have a moment to say a prayer for him, I would appreciate it...off to find some scrapping mojo...

Prayers with you, hope is nothing serious , and I think you can find this is the perfect distraction... huge huggzz and, once again, prayers with you!!!!!

I am so excited for this! I’ve never done anything even close to this so it’s totally outside my comfort zone!

my heart is just about to explode with happiness!!!!! :heartlub:heartlub:heartlub

oh dear! Dolls, really, I was the little girl that wouldn't have anything to do with dolls, a bit like clowns I found them scary, still don't like them! Oh well, it is a month of challenges and this will definitely be a challenge! Maybe I can find the doll a fur coat and pretend its a teddy bear - those I did/do love!
I'm sure you will come up with something great!

Well, my dear @MrsPeel!! I must say------I LOVE MY LAYOUT!!!! What fun this was!! I went with Winter with a sprinkling of Summer. As my explanation states in the gallery, I am portraying the Winter of my years rearing its ugly head, while inside me the Summer of my youth still hangs on.
Thank you for an awesome challenge!!! I take back everything I said!!!!! I am eating my words!!!
And thank you, Tangie, for the great templates. I used the arms and torso.

left you a message in the gallery :heartslub

:rofl:rollin:rofl love you!!!!!!!

is there a boy doll you can make from the template?

like Sara @Tree City said, you can transform, but I can make you a trousers or short PNG is you want it? you could use (like Sara said) the straight dress as a t shirt just cute a bit off!!!

Oh, man. I've been dreading the "artsy" challenge! This is way out of my wheelhouse...but, that finish line is oh-so-close!

you will do great!!! have a look at what others have done...is more for you to have fun creating all together!!!!

Oh goodness, this looks like it's going to be a LOT of fun!! Thanks for the great template, @Tangie Baxter!

Can't wait to see what you do Jan!!!!!!!!! :heartlub:heartlub:heartlub

Typically these dolls are female in connotation (probably because 99.9% of those who art journal are female and journal about themselves? IDK), but I think you could alter the "dress" and make it into a T-shirt (just cut off part of the bottom so it's a shirt length) and you could turn the skirt into shorts by using the eraser tool and erasing a line in the lower middle so it looks like a pair of shorts. Then use colors you think of as "boyish" or "masculine," and it's a boy doll.

thanks so so much!!!! you rock Sara!!!! @Tree City

I always loved paper dolls...still do! This is very interesting challenge. Thanks Tangie for supplying the template..do we have permission to use for other projects after MOC?

yes!!!!! the template is yours once you download :heartlub:heartlub:heartlub just make sure you credit her!

Oh geez. Dread. I have no faces in any kit. I’ll maybe go with the backnof the head. Not something I’d ever do on my own that’s for sure

oh I am sure you can do wonderful!!! it can be faceless to!!!!

I[m so so amazed with your creativity, and I have only got through to page 2!!!!
I'm having an ultrasound today, so will be back later tonight, but thank you for playing, everyone, I'm loving seeing creativity at it's best!!!!! :heartlub:heartlub:beat:heartlub:heartlub

This was such a cool experience! I've always been curious about art dolls, and I always get excited when I see big headpieces or treetops made from giant clusters of flowers or buttons. With inspiration from @ashleywb & @JillW I decided to combine the two.
When I bought the @mommyish Furry brushes/styles during her dollar deal, I wasn't sure if/when I'd use it. I certainly didn't expect the first time to be in making armpit hair, but when I got to that part I realized, Oh! I have the perfect style for doing this! :D

Summer was my Vivaldi Four Seasons inspiration for this page. For me, and I think for many, summer is the hardest time to be a girl. The Vivaldi piece evokes that sense of stressful overwhelm (though I assume Antonio was not contemplating bikini waxes when he composed it…)

i listened to all the tracks and honestly they all pretty much sounded the same to me in the end (!) so i asked DS to pick a season and he picked winter and then i added a bit of a disney touch with the mixed media look doll

Awesome Challenge!! What a great way to start the day listening to and being inspired by all that beautiful music! I was inspired by Spring, it's upbeat tempo and how it almost sounds like birds singing at one point. I chose bright colors reminiscent of spring flowers, tulips and hyacinths and daffodils, they just put a smile on my face as we transition from a gray winter to a bright, bold, fresh new spring. :beat

I do think I went a little overboard... but I had a lot of fun! ETA: I knew I was forgetting something. I was inspired by ... SUMMER! The colors, the feel in the air, the lazy days spent doing fun things.

Day 25 Art Doll

I was inspired by Vivaldi's Summer and the drink on the picture. Summer is by far my favorite season.

Credits; Tangie (Art Journal doll template), Rebecca (treasured fall boy doodle), Lynn Grieveson (textuals), Etc by Dan (this or that paper for dress), Dawn Inkskip (leaves, bird overlay, drinks, doodled sun, Summer WA, fuity titel WA- from a Slice of Summer kit)

Inspiration: Autumn Colors and the highs and low of the music, which reminded me a lot of scrapping. Some days the creativity flows and other days not so much. Which I am definitely feeling this week.
