Welcome to the Neighborhood Gift

Hi friends!! I’m so excited to be here today sharing an easy idea for a neighbor gift.

I think I’ve mentioned before that we are a military family. In fact, for the last several years we have lived on a military post and have really enjoyed the community aspect of that. I think community and connections with neighbors is something that we’re all craving more of these days.

The summer is a major time for moves within the military. But, I don’t necessarily think that is completely unique to military communities. The summer is a major time for life transitions of all sorts, including moves.

This summer I am trying to be a little more proactive with welcoming new neighbors into the neighborhood AND I’m using my digi-scrap supplies to help me do that!

One interesting thing I’ve learned about building community is that it really doesn’t take a lot of work or effort. Simple gestures can make a big impact! And the idea for a welcome to the neighborhood gift that I’m sharing today is just that…a really simple gesture that can go a long way in building connections within your community.

I used Etc by Danyale’s On the Street We Live kit and elements from Day Dreams & Ice Creams by Mommyish to create a 4×6 card tag that I attached to an ice cream scoop with ribbon. I took this along with a half gallon of ice cream to neighbors moving in down the street from us.

Our neighbors appreciated this small gift so much as they were unpacking their home!

I am so thankful for the versatility of my digi scrap supplies in creating cards and personalized gifts like this. It would also be a good idea to include your name and contact information on the back of the card.

This is just one idea for a simple way to welcome new neighbors, I would love to hear any other ideas you have!!
