Hi guys! It’s Polly Monica here with a fun and really simple hybrid project that you can use for your Thanksgiving dinner next week.
I so admire a table being set with all the trimmings including individual place cards for everyone sitting around it to share a meal together.
These place cards are really simple to make and they include a special sweet treat for all of your guests!
To put these place cards together you will need square sized journaling cards (available in Memory Plan Monthly and Storyteller Collections), cardstock paper for printing, a paper trimmer, candy (I used Hershey Kisses and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups), toothpicks, and adhesives.
The first thing I did when making these place cards was to pull in various square sized journaling cards from Just Jaimee’s November 2016 Storyteller Collection. I then duplicated each of these and resized them to 2×2 inch size.
I then brought each of these into a letter sized paper in Photoshop. I duplicated each journaling card and rotated 180 degrees so that I could place it above the original. That way after printing I could cut around the two attached cards and fold down the middle to make a back/front sided card.
Be sure to add the names of each guest in your favorite font before printing! I used Fairytales Script font.
You’re then ready to print on cardstock paper. I used a paper trimmer to cut out each place card.
To assemble, fold each place card down the middle as described above. Stick a toothpick into a Hershey Kiss, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, or any similar sized chocolate candy. Use adhesive to attach the place card to the toothpick and you’re all set!
These were so fun to make and I can’t wait to see them mark the place of each person around our Thanksgiving table soon!
These would be easy to adapt to any holiday that you’re celebrating with family or friends around your table. I would love to hear if you give these a try this holiday season!
