Hello everyone! Have you ever seen a template that you just loved but it had too many photo spots for page you were planning to create? Or maybe you’re like me and tend to scrap single photo pages. Today I’m going to share some quick and creative ways to re-purpose multi-photo templates to fit with your scrapping needs.
I recently used this awesome 5 photo template from Fiddle-Dee-Dee Designs (from her Oh Christmas Tree 2 {Dressed Up} set):
And re-purposed it for this single photo page:
You would never know from looking at my page that it was created with a five photo template, would you? I substituted painted ornaments from Rebecca McMeen’s Holly Jolly Ornaments for the four photo spots surrounding the larger focal photo. And just like that – a five photo template turns into a single photo template. :)
Here are a few additional ideas for creatively re-purposing multi-photo templates:
- Use Journaling cards in place of photos.
- Replace several smaller photo spots with a large focal photo.
- Use element clusters in place of photo spots.
- Add dimension to the page by using foliage elements in place of photo spots.
- Go the opposite direction and create a clean layout by deleting the photo spots and leaving those spaces open on the page.
I am sure you have lots of creative re-purposing ideas too, so be sure to share them with us in the comments!
Until next time ~

I have the opposite problem. :) I often want to increase the number of photos on a template. I just Command-J duplicate the photo spots, drag them around, and resize them as needed.
