Make It Monday Thank You Card

Happy September!  Polly Robin here with another Make it Monday blog post.  This month I’m focusing on the newest Memory Pockets Monthly kit, More.  Y’all, I am SURROUNDED by boys.  I have two sons, a husband, a brother, multiple nephews, and a FIL who all get cards.  You would think it’s easy to make a card for them, but no!  Masculine cards are HARD.  So, when I saw the colors in this collection, and particularly the striped papers, I literally squealed out loud!  So this month you will be seeing me make cards with this collection.

I thought I’d start out with something really simple.  I printed off my paper using my Epson 3850 ET printer and then cut a 3.75 x 3.75-inch square from it on the diagonal.  I also cut a 4 x 4-inch square from a black piece of cardstock as well as a 4.25 x 4.25-inch square from a white cardstock.  I layered these so that the pattern paper was on top of the black square which was on top of the white cardstock.

I’ll be honest, I made multiple of these stacks so I can use them later for different cards.  All I have to do is change my sentiment and I can have a card ready in just minutes.

For this week’s card, I heat embossed my “Many Many Thanks” sentiment on a black rectangle which was matted by a white frame.  That’s it!  My card was done, and I could let my brother know how much I appreciated his help.  Here’s my finished card and I hope you can see how easy it is to make, and since I was able to make 4 of these from one 8.5 x 11 printed pattern paper, it’s economical as well!

Thanks for looking at my card and I’ll be back in two weeks with another simple card using this same MPM collection, More.
