Make It Monday Missing You Card

Welcome to my Make It Monday Blog Post. Polly Robin here to show you how I made another card. This week I wanted to use the Connection kit collab by ninigoesdigi and Allison Pennington. It has gorgeous pattern papers and the perfect word art to make a “I’m missing you” card.
As usual, I roughly planned my card in Photoshop just so I could get a quick feel for what I wanted to do and how I wanted to use the paper and elements.

Next, I created my print sheet by selecting “Print to PDF” and then printing THAT with my Epson ET printer.

Now comes the fun part!
- I cut 6 strips from the flowered paper that were ¾” wide and 4” high. I made sure to keep them in order so that when I went to glue them down, the pattern was still intact.
- I cut around the word art strip and glued it over the solid color to make the tag. I also cut around the butterfly and glued it on as well.
- I used a recycled card and covered it with some brown kraft paper and glued my strips onto it. I added my decorated word strip and then decided I wanted to use a die and diecut machine to add my sentiments. If you don’t have any hybrid crafting supplies, you can easily skip this step! I made two cards because I always figure if I’m taking the time to make one, I should just go ahead and make multiples ????
Here are my finished cards.

That’s it. It was seriously easy. Now I DO have a color printer that uses cheap ink, but if you don’t, printing out one color piece of paper on cardstock is only $0.85 at Staples. You can’t buy a card for that price! The only supplies needed were scissors and glue so I hope you can see that cardmaking isn’t overwhelming and give it a go.
That’s it for me and I’ll see you in a few weeks with another simple card!
