Make It Monday Box Card

Welcome back to another Make It Monday blog post.  Polly Robin here and today I’m going to make a pirate themed box card for my pirate-obsessed nephew.  I chose to use Project Mouse (Pirates) by Sahlin Studio and Brittish Designs because it had such great elements.

Isn’t it fun?!  For this card, I downloaded a box SVG and cut it from black heavyweight cardstock for my base.  Then I cut 2 inch squares and 2 rectangles from three different papers in the kit to use for the panels:

Next, I cut out a bunch of different elements so that I’d have plenty to choose from when I assembled the box:

Okay, now for the fun part!  First, I used the red stripe and polka dot papers to decorate the outside of the box:

Then, I used the printed paper for the inside of the box:

Next I just needed to glue the inside strips and the panel together to actually form my box:

Finally, I put the fun elements inside, added a sentiment, my card is done!

The great thing is it also folds flat for mailing so no extra postage for me????

Thanks for taking a peek at my process and hope you like the card as much as I know my nephew will!  See y’all next month with another Make It Monday blog post.
