Love Is In The Air

Valentine’s Day is in about three weeks, which means it’s the perfect time to start thinking about possible gifts for the one you love.  Last year I made a “Love You” mini book as an anniversary gift for my husband.  Each page listed a reason why I love him.  While it wasn’t for Valentine’s Day, you could easily adapt the same concept and make a “Love You” mini album for your significant other.

I created the 4×6 mini album using paper supplies.  However, I could easily see this album created in hybrid or digital format.  With hybrid, you could print out some of the fabulous Valentine or love-themed products at The Lilypad, print out your photos, and put together the album with some journaling.  With a digital mini book, you could create 4×6 pages with photos,  journaling, and digital papers and embellishments.  Then you could print the page out individually and bind together using rings, or you could have it printed into a mini book by an online service like Snapfish.

I planned out my journaling first by making a list of the reasons why I love my husband.

Then I cut the journaling into strips of paper and adhered them into my mini album.   I worked on the album in little spurts here and there for a few weeks, but you could certainly complete the album in a day or two, maybe even faster.  I loved the process of picking out the photos I wanted to use, and also thinking of the list of reasons why I love my husband.  I love how the book turned out!  But even more so, I love that my husband loves it because he knows I put a lot of thought and work into it.  Some of the sentiments that I expressed are things that I’m so thankful to him for, but I don’t say them every single day.  I still catch him picking up the book sometimes and looking through it.  It makes me smile!  🙂  For more information and details on the process I used to put together the book, you can visit my blog here.

So are you ready to make an awesome and sure-to-be-appreciated mini album as a special Valentine’s Day gift?  I found some love-themed products at The Lilypad that could help you with your project!  ♥
