Hi, it’s Sharon (guest hybrid Polly) here with a cute little Fall gift card that I made with my new Cameo Silhouette! It’s taken me a few days of playing around to work out how to use it but wow is all I can say! How easy it makes cutting out digital files, especially those small and intricate ones, so I can certainly see a lot more hybrid goodies being whipped up in the future!
To start with, I opened up all the digital files in my Silhouette Cameo software my using the ‘File, Merge’ function so they all fitted nicely onto the one page which makes it more economical for paper saving. I used an 8.5 x 11 inch Epson Matte Heavyweight Photo Paper. You’ll notice on my final card below that there are some other digital embellishments – these were cut out by hand as I had some left over from other projects I have been making.
The Cameo has a ‘Send To Printer’ function, so off the page went directly to my Epson printer. Then I adhered the printed page to the sticky cutting mat and fed it into the Cameo. You add registration marks to your printed page so that the Cameo knows exactly where to cut once the printed page is inserted. Then I set the page to be cut. Didn’t take very long and you just peel off the printed goodies from your mat and assemble your finished project. Easy peasy really and there are so many fabulous tutorials on the Silhouette website and You Tube so I’ll be exploring what else this little wonder can do.
Here’s my final version of the project with a few other physical embellishments added from my stash. There is a little flap on this card that I could add a gift card, some cash or a personal note into once I work out who will be receiving this card.
