Hybrid Document Your December Album Update

Hello everyone! Today I want to share with you an update on the hybrid Document Your December album that I am currently working on.

Some of you may have already seen some of my hybrid December album on the Gold edition of the HybridVariety Show earlier this month. I have enjoyed creating this album completely from scratch. Some of the papers and small embellishments were in my paper scrapbooking stash, but I simply could not resist using the amazing products in the 2o14 Document Your December Category.

Below is a glimpse of the partially completed front cover and the inside pages.

I used cut files from the 2o14 Document Your December Category to cut several embellishments. My favorites are definitely the shiny gold ones.

I also created several digital pages using 2o14 Document Your December products. Then printed the completed pages to include in the album.2014_dyd5

I still have a few gaps to fill in before calling this album complete, but I am so happy to have an album in hand for my children to see and enjoy right now.

 

I’m a creative who pulls inspiration from all corners of life—both the joyful highs and the real-life moments that punch you in the gut. Honestly, I don’t think I can pin down a single scrapbooking style for myself, so let’s just go with eclectic. My layouts really depend on my mindset. If I’m in a deep, cerebral mood, you’ll likely see something chaotic and messy. If I’m more relaxed, it tends to come out clean, simple, and structured.

My brain is usually running on several channels at once, so it’s completely normal for me to be working on a digital layout, dabbling in a hybrid project, and getting messy with art journaling or mixed media—all at the same time.

Here are a few of my go-to tools: Digital: Adobe Photoshop CC + my MacBook; Photos: Canon Rebel or iPhone; Hybrid: Cricut Joy + sewing machine; Art Journaling: watercolors, stencils, and artsticks

And when it comes to embellishments—digital or physical—I’m always reaching for messy threads, ribbons, and Polaroids. Always the Polaroids.
