Homemade Christmas Ornament

Hi scrappy friends! It’s Monica here with an easy homemade gift idea.

I love giving homemade Christmas ornaments to friends at Christmas time! This has become a favorite gift of mine to make and give. They’re so easy to personalize and take no time to make.

It’s pretty easy to make a basic glittered ornament. All you need is a glass ornament (these can be found at most craft stores), extra fine glitter in your choice of color, and Pledge Floor Care with Future Shine. The Pledge Floor Care is available at Wal-mart and some grocery stores. It’s a bit expensive (around $6), but one bottle will make a ton of ornaments!

FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO MAKE A GLITTERED ORNAMENT:

1. Remove the metal top to the ornament.

2. Pour in about a tablespoon of Pledge Floor Care in to the ornament and gently swirl it around to cover the inside of your ornament. Be gentle with this step so that you don’t create too many air bubbles.

3. Pour the excess cleaner back into the bottle.

4. Pour a generous amount of glitter into the ornament and shake well to cover the inside of your ornament with glitter. I hold a small amount of plastic wrap over the opening of the ornament during this step.

5. Pour the extra glitter back into a small bowl.

After making the ornament, you can use a cutting machine and digital designs to cut out vinyl to personalize them. The possibilities for these are really endless!

These ornaments would make a fun personalized gift for anyone on your Christmas list this year!

Do you enjoy making homemade Christmas gifts for family and friends? I would love to hear your ideas!
