January 31: Traveler's Notebook + Connections

Laura! I can't thank you enough for a fabulous ending challenge to MOC 7!! I was a little scared when I first saw the challenge as I didn't know what a TN was, but after starting my page, I really got into it and LOVED creating it. Another page done for my son's album. Here is my story connecting 1958 to 2017. Journaling is typed out in the gallery.

I thought pretty seriously about doing this as my first hybrid page in one of my Traveler's Notebooks, but in the end I decided to stick with digital so I could include it in our 2018 album. (I usually use my TNs as planners and notebooks, not for memory keeping.) Thanks for the inspiration and TN template!

 

This is the first TN layout I ever made! I was not yet familiar with this concept, but I sure love seeing all these beautiful layouts made in this thread.

My layout turned out to be quit an emotional one for me, but I'm glad I've written down the story and that it's part of my scrapbook now. I tried writing it in English, which is not my native language, so I hope there aren't any weird grammatical errors or sentences in it. Journaling can also be read in the credits.

Thank you so much for pushing me out of my comfort zone with this challenge!

This was a tough one for me, can't really pinpoint why other than not being able to find the photos I wanted. Either way, I think in the end I appreciate the hard challenges the most! So, thank you for this crazy hard (for me) challenge!! I did all the challenges in order, so this is me, MOC7 FINISHER!! Yeah Baby!!

Journaling:
We first went to Disneyland around 1993. We bought my Talon an autograph book and happily visited characters and got their autograph. Goofy was one that we got. Flash forward to 2019. We were going with my niece and nephews for their first time. I brought my autograph books (we bought one for Tanner when he started going) on a whim at the last minute thinking it would be fun. We had gone many times since 93 and so they were about half full. We got in line to see Goofy and I gave Annalyn the book and a pen. I gave Kres the other book. Goofy took one look at that little red book and immediately went crazy asking who it belonged to. I raised my hand. He said it was old school...a classic! He thumbed through it and was in awe of the different characters we had autographs of. He then took Kres’s and asked who it belonged to. I again raised my hand. He made a big deal about that one to! It was super fun for Garry and I. Annalyn and Kres were less impressed. Thank goodness I am a saver!

 

I wish this challenge had come earlier in MOC when I'd had more time to think it through, but it is also a great way to finish off! Credits and my journaling are in my gallery.

Day 31 Travelers Notebook



Translation;
Our first holiday to the American west coast was in 2013. Unfortunately, a few days after arrival, the ShutDown was a fact, all National Parks were closed and we could only drive the main roads. In 2015 we went again and now we could fully enjoy. We experienced the biggest difference in Death Valley. In 2013 it was there "only" 30 degrees Celcius, in 2015 it was 50 degrees! We had lunch
at Bad Water, in the car with the air conditioning at 20 degrees.
Some things do not change, such as the view at Zabriskie-Point. Still as beautiful as in 2013. However, the road to it was completely re-built, with the corresponding parking spaces. What an overwhelming landscape!

 

375 words about the connections and coincidences chosen and discovered regarding my daughter's names (even discovered doing this page that both her first name and middle name have the same meaning!). Journaling in gallery upload,
