Journaling:
When I was a kid, my family spent a lot of time at Six Flags Magic Mountain during the summer months. When you have six children it is very hard to afford places like Disneyland. The season passes to Magic Mountain were a lot more affordable. We would usually head up on a Saturday morning. My mom would pack an ice chest full of waters and lunch fixings. We would spend all day in the park and really only leave when it was lunchtime (we would eat in the little shaded area in the middle of the parking lot). We loved that place and knew it like the back of our hands.
Fast forward some years...today was the first time taking one of my own children to the park I spent so much of my childhood. It has changed an awful lot. A lot of the same rides are there but there are a whole lot of new ones as well. You have to really like roller coasters because they are all very intense. I was afraid it might be too much for her too soon but she went full force and rode one of the craziest rides there as her first ride. It helped that so many of us were going to get on it as well. Mandi was the only one that sat out. We had such a fun day!
I was a little sad to see that the park in the center of the parking lot was removed in order to allow more parking spaces. It is such a shame because it was a great, little spot to just relax a bit.
I hope to be able to take Cole to Magic Mountain some day. He needs to be a little more adventurous before I try.
